Well I never... I play around with software synths too and try building them using "synthedit". I love Newage, and I started as a pianist a long time ago... no compositions though, but one day they will come.. when I can get some time away from 3d LOL.

My favorite was The night of the fireflies...but all of them were very good.  thanks for sharing.

I liked Galactic Dreams and the one below it. Very relaxing, ready to roll with Vue, Bryce or other planet terrain flyovers;-)

The first (song) could fit into our 'Return to Stonehenge' next to 'Feile'

Galactic Dreams I'd see it into the 4k project. Great stuff, well done.

The idea was to make music AND animation ( animating a detailed spaceship/flyby etc. in Bryce or Vue) but right now I don't have render resources (for HQ animation)...I'll do it sooner or later though! :-)

Synthedit. Off to go see....;)I got one of those 'Computer Music) DVDs with about 30 programs, soup to nuts. Now if I could only figure out how to get them to talk to each other...;)

Used to play with real synths, but that was back in the day.

Believe it or not "Computer Music" magazine is where I started when I first began to delve into the art of virtual synthesis and music arrangement. Now I am the moderator of a popular yahoo group called "Homesequencers" where there are many members who are quiet happy to help you out if you have a question or two. I am also in the process of developing tutorials (not released yet) as well as creating a new VST instrument/synth and then on top of this developing my lack of CG skills LOL.

So what are you sequencing with?

I use a combination of Sonar7 and Fruity Loops... One day soon I'll actually get a music project completed LOL.

I used to sequence with Edit Track Gold for the Atari 1040STE.

Now  I use Fruity Loops.

Yes.. Fruity Loops is a surprisingly flexible package.

I use Sonar8, and Emulator X, but sometimes I really miss my trusty old Alesis MMT-8 and my drum machine, heh heh.

 I've just started playing around with VST instruments and Acid express 7 (the free version)

My Edit time expired or something weird ok here goes.

#1: I was playing around with a TB303 type of VST and this is the end result.
#2: I had this melody in my head and I couldnt figure out what it was, I recorded
this track and realised its from an old C64/Amiga game I used to play called "Giana Sisters"
#3: I dont have a title for this, I sort of have an idea where I'm going with this.
#4: This title was to be an entry for a Cell Phone Game contest.  But I ran out of time. I still plan to finish it.

Great stuff, I liked the first track best so far (haven't listened to all of them yet).

I use Ableton Live for sequencing.
It's also a great testbed for synth development because of the flexible routing on it.

The last few years or so I switched to SynthMaker for VST/i development:

I'm cleaning out my basement so I can re-build my studio hence why i've been mia.

If I can get it to work, it will be a Hybrid Hardware/VST Studio.

Main Sequencing in Edit Track Gold on the Atari ST + Fruity Loops on the PC.

You're lucky, I'm in the opposite situation right now; can't get anything done and I'm contemplating selling my hardware (although I really don't want to) due to wanting to relocate.  I might have to go fully 'virtual' with the only hardware being a computer and controller.

It's a hard decision whether to keep it, buy more hardware - and bring it with me.  Or whether to sell it, lessen the baggage - and relearn a workflow.

I had a similar situation occur myself brought on by divorce etc. I decided to go virtual and I havn't looked back since. If I gig again I just plug in my laptop and amp it up... you'll be surprised at just what can be accomplished.

But then it is down to the individual and what they feel more comfortable with.

Since this is a hobby and I dont plan to do any live gigs, and I like the tactile feel of real hardware.  I'm going to try the Hybrid thing.  I love VST's, but I also love real gear... and its amazing how cheap old gear is.  I picked up a Fully Loaded EMU 5000 Pro Sampler for $200, it would have sold for $2000 ore more back in the 90's.
