Subject: Trying to find location of photo!

I downloaded a wallpaper from Renderosity some time ago and have become rather intrigued  by it, in that it gives me a very peaceful feeling when I look at it. Recently I've started to wonder just exactly where the location of the scene in the picture is. When I saved it, I gave it a name, but I'm not sure if that was the real name for it.

It's a simple scene really, a sprawling green countryside with one house in the middle and a few scattered around. There are also some sheep grazing in the foreground. I would love to know where this is. I live in the US and definitely don't think it's there.

I've attached the wallpaper

if I had to take a guess I would say it is Yorkshire in England, looks very much like it could be.

***I didn't know that Renderosity offered wallpapers for download.....

Not really downloading, just right-clicking and saving, but you have to be a member, of course.

So, let me understand this, you make it a habit of taking artwork from the galleries here, and don't ask permission from the members who created it?

Well said Bruce, you know it's this kind of behaviour that ruins a comunity like this, thank goodness I have a copyright notice on my homepage, I will prosocute anyone who steals my work!!!..Plus I am sure I remember this shot, I am sure it's one of David's?

I don't really see the problem if he just used it as a wallpaper for how own PC. Ofcourse if it was placed on another website without permission, that would be a big no no, but I didn't see any mention of that.

I can understand that but basic manners and also the TOS here at Renderosity state that permission must be obtained from the artist irrespective of what one is doing with it!

janlafata,  I have used images from the site for innocent purposes but always the permission of the creator/author is needed first.  You see, some of us have seen our work posted other places on the web without our permission and sometimes with others claiming to have done the image, violating both our copyright and the rules of this website.

Folks are quite sensitive about their work being used without permission.  Ask (by site mail perhaps) and explain how the image will be used and it will be easy enough to gain permission in many cases.

There is a difference on downloading for a wallpaper on your personal computer and downloading to place on another site guys.

And push, you are the one that started the bashing so trying to take control now is a little moot don't you think?  You being a moderator should have a little more tact and sent him an IM not start a public lynching.

Frankly I have to agree with odeathoflife.

OK the guy seems to have innocently used an image, I would imagine it happens hundreds of times a day on this and other sites but lets face it he used it as a wallpaper. And he was naive enough to say so. A word in his ear would have been enough.
