Subject: My First Impressions Poser 8 on an old mac

My mac is G5 computer. 1.8 gzh.

My firsst impression about the whole interface.. is ITS GREAT

I love it! But the bad thing is it's slow/sluggish. It's workable but when you move the character to poser him or move the camera, it feels sluggish and the graphics do not change in a smooth manner. Even if Tracking is set to be Bounding Boxes only, it's still a bit sluggish. with Poser 6, Bounding Boxes was superbly smooth and perfect. and even Full tracking was pretty good

Anyway, it's workable though. I wish there could be some improvement for us low end computer users.

Another thing i have been trouble with, is that when i loaded a character...the IK option is dimmed out, so you can't select it..thus, if you translate the hip down, all the body goes with it. So , the feet don't stop at the ground, they go through. How do i select IK to be on?

I am glad it is working well for you. I will add that hopes for Graphic Programs to offer improvement for "us low end computer users" most likely is not going to happen. With all the capabilities of the newer machines, these programs will be wanting to exploit that at every turn.

Just to set a level here I'll add that I'm running P8 on a G5 dual 2 ghz  with 3 gig of RAM and my first impression was that it responded slower than P7. I have a 30" monitor so I made all the windows much smaller which seemed to help some. This is only the first day I've had it running so, no conclusions yet.
