Subject: Material room inputs don't mean what you think they mean.

I've posted some info you may not know already about the material room. Rather than double post, please follow this link to an older message where I've put the info and some demo pictures. Scroll down to response #8.

The jist of it is that some inputs have internal nodes and some don't. All the ones that don't are interchangeable.

For example, plugging a Specular node in the Refraction_Color, Alternate_Diffuse, Alternate_Specular, or Reflection_Color WILL ALL DO THE SAME THING.

On the other hand, moving nodes from Alternate_Diffuse to Diffuse will DO THE WRONG THING because the Diffuse input already has a Diffuse node in it.

The names are stupid. The Reflection input is only a reflection if you plug a Reflection node into it.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

Thanks, useful to know that many of the names are just suggestions. I'll have to play around with this now, see if it opens up any new possibilities.

That is weird, but good to know.  Thanks.
