I posted a free model there this week of the free Treasure Chest, that was rendered in Bryce 5. I used their cherry wood and corroded gold for the chest and 2 spherical lights for the lighting. I think it came out great. Sharen

Not really an artistic render just a test. Depth of field, 144 rays per pixel, 4096 by 4096 terrain, and a tree. the terrain is a default texture (I have never used a default texture on a terrain before). The high res terrains turn average textures into pretty good things.

Gee I am stil waiting on UPS for mine.

Nice depth of field, it looks great, maybe I'll have to get it, I can't do that in Bryce 4! kaom

Thats what I was thinking as well. How about the net rendering?

Nice picture but.. if you look at the bark, you can tell that Corel really screwed up majorly on the tree lab... see on the limbs, that the bark is still straight up and down.. which is not even close to real life, because if you look at a tree in real life, the bark runs along the lines of the branch, and not up and down..

griggs ( ) posted Wed, 18 July 2001 at 7:24 PM

Warder it was a test pic I didnt even bother messing with the tree.

Here is another tree this time no depth blur. Its the lebanon tree instead of default corel screw up.

Looks great! Guess what? I just bought the upgrade today. I'll be playing with it all night. So far so good though, it's running great. I'll post something as soon as I do something worth posting, right now I'm just doing test renders. kaom

:) still doing test renders myself. I think you will like what B5 can do. Spike the render quality can be right up there with flamingo. albeit slower But if you have B4 its much cheaper. :) no radiosity though

Hey Warder...the trunks have textures like everything else in Bryce. If you don't like something you can go into the ME and change it. Really. You don't have to have a default texture on a trunk. So I hardly think Corel screwed up...LOL Sometimes you people slay me. And I mean this in a friendly way. Honestly. Your comment just struck me so funny. Spit
