Hey Twillis, I just had to say thanks. Even though I have PPro, it was very informative to know that UVMapper can be used to split/divide up an obj. I had no idea. Albeit I use UVM mostly on my MAC (I do have it on a PC also), and I don't think the assign is available on the MAC version. I may be wrong so don't quote me on that because I never dreamed to do this via UVM. Great bit of knowledge! These kinds of tips are the backbone of getting the most out of the tools we all seem to have. Again thanks. I think that so many people want this knowledge and this will help immensily. James
Hmm, jschoen, I didn't think about the Mac version. I'll try to find out if the same thing can be done. Meanwhile, maybe I should go back and mark the tutorial as the PC version. Meanwhile, if anyone knows what the method (if any) is for the doing the withthe Mac version of UVMapper, please let me know. I'd like to put up a Mac version of the tutorial, so any tips would be appreciated. --Terri
Sadly, I have not been to seen Shrek yet. But I have it on good authority that this scene rocks. So now, if everyone makes their own gingerbread man, we can have our own UnHoly Gingerbread Army to avenge the poor tortured Gingerbread Man in Shrek. Hmmm... which leads to the question: Do Gingerbread Warrior Women also wear bikini chain mail? (Made out of frosting, maybe... ) By the way, I tried to set it up so that the gingerbread dude can use the human figure poses. So I hope to see some kickass martial arts scenes, you people!
Help! I'm stuck on direction #19. "19. Exit Point Edit mode by pressing the Select and Edit button (picture of typical cursor-type arrow). Select the mesh." Okay... I pressed the cursor-type arrow, then... how do I select the mesh? It won't let me select anything with that arrow. Obviously I'm having a blond moment, cause I can't figure this part out. Help anyone!

He looks cute, Tyger cub. Well, I've got all five stages, although I plan to go back and tweak some parts. I'm actually uploading the files right now, but when they're done you should be able to access it at the link above. BTW, what was the problem with step 19? Sounds like I need to make the instructions a bit clearer. Looking forward to seeing some kickass gingerbread men!The thing that threw me on #19 (besides being blond) is there are 2 arrows that looked like the one in your picture... If you redo that part, would you add all four boxes, showing the arrow selected? Also found a missing instruction in #12 of "Creating the Figure In Poser: "Select Figure ==> ==> Right Leg to Left Leg" should be "Select Figure ==> Symmetry ==> Right Leg to Left Leg" None the less, I had so much fun doing this! Thanks a million! TygerCub

OK, I've got the first parts of the tutorial up at the link above. This tutorial will walk you through the stages of creating a Poser figure from scratch. I'll try to get the last two sections done by tomorrow night. Let me know what you think.
