Subject: Where are the Anime characters for Hiro

FightingWolf ( ) posted Sat, 22 August 2009 at 8:13 PM · edited Sun, 01 December 2024 at 7:00 PM

I've been looking around on the Internet for anime characters for Hiro 4.  Is it just me or is there a shortage of Hiro 4 Anime characters?

DAZ has some.  Here's one example of a mega pack of them for H4:

I'm looking for Morphs more than anything else.  I'm trying to create Final Fantasy style characters. I'm able to do well with creating female morphs but I'm having trouble with the male morphs.

Well, I'll keep that in mind to make next, but I have a project i'm working on that will prob. take 2 weeks.

You looking for a cloud/tidus type?

I saw you asking about anime style hair in another thread... any luck with that?

That's exactly what I'm looking for. Anything that is similar to that style or Final Fantasy Advent Children.  Next month I'll be teaching myself 3D modeling.  I hope it's not as difficult as it  looks.

What program you going to use... it is as hard as it looks, not to make stuff, but to learn interfaces and how to use all the tools at your disposal. If your going to buy something.... get zbrush. Then download blender for free and start learning. I never used blender myself cause I wasnt aware of the freeware!

I have the shade 8 nightmare and I have Daz's Hexagon.  I also have 3 boxes of tissue for all the blood sweat and tears that I'll be crying during the learning process.  I heard about light wave, zbrush, and some other software that I can't remember and it looks fairly straight forward but I won't buy that until I get a better computer and save some money for purchasing the software.  Until then shade 8 and Hexagon will have to do.

I know this is going to be one of those things I'll just have to sit down patiently and learn bit by bit instead of trying to blast through it all.

I would study anything you can get your hands on, youtube usually has good stuff.

Again, I'll try to make a hiro morph but it's gonna have to wait a week or 2 :P

Just watched Advent Children......... started a Morph... Just have to make a inj pmd. Started a shirt, will move on to pants and attempt my 1st hair in the coming days. I think I'll do boots when Zbrush 3.5 update comes out, but if it doesnt in the next few days I'll work on it.

What were you going to use for clothing?
I'm gonna make the items from the movie. Of course they can't be blatent ripoffs, I don't wanna step on any toes, but close enough for a fan to see the uncanny resem.

edit: I'll have to do the deep blue eyes too

I didn't think about the clothing. I guess it didn't come to mind since I've been working on updating my site so that it will be ready for September 1st. I've also been really busy trying to think of a good animation style to use with Poser that won't take me 7 months to complete just 5 minutes of show time.  I guess I'll just have to use what ever clothing is already available and brush off my drawing skills enough where I can maybe draw other clothing styles that may match the figure.

I really appreciate you doing this. It sounds like you are really good at it.

Lets wait and see what it turns out like. I'm trying to tackle the hair right now!

The shirt is coming out good so far though!

For morphs, the absolute best morphing engine out there is Blacksmith 3d.

Check it out.  I love it because after a few minutes, I was able to make professional morphs with it.  I did read up a lot before jumping into it. Link: www.blacksmith3d.com/

DarksealStudios ( ) posted Tue, 01 September 2009 at 1:08 AM

I'm using Zbrush and Maya for mine. I'll post a pic later. I think I'm about done with the pants, though I'll probably make changes once I do boots. I hate trying to make this hair though. Working on shirt. Don't know how I'm gonna workout the gloves. Maybe a texture/disp map? We will see. the model dosn't look like anything special yet without a texture.

I'll probably make the shirt white so anyone can change the color on the diffuse channel. I got the inj file done for the full body m. Still have to paint the shirt, bring into maya for part naming, and then the oh so fun shoes.....

for us that texture if you include a uv map for the shirt it will make it easier to give it a new look

I will be. I still need to do some work on the pants, but the top is about done i think. I don't think i'm gonna tackle hair in this character, not sure (just slapped on hair in this pic). moving on to boots and props. Props 1st, cause I'm waiting for the zbrush update still.

by the way, the pants are a light grey too so it's easy to change base color.

no options so far?

I just found a one week old kitten under my backstairs, so I'm taking a break for a few days to care for him.

But I'd still like to hear any and all crits so far!

kittykitty12: I will include a seam jpeg, it's unwrappped nicely.

Wow.. that's really nice. I definitely need to learn how to do what you do.

Totally cool outfit **Phionix.

How did you make the zipper?**

DarksealStudios ( ) posted Wed, 09 September 2009 at 5:31 PM

I did the zipper in Maya, just a bunch of primitives, scaled, duplicated, grouped, etc.....

I wish i would have already released it but I found 2 more kittens and the mommy cat over the holiday weekend. I've been working on finding a "no kill" shelter for them. It's alot of work. Then my wife has the flu and I am so tired. But I need some new releases damnit!

I am still getting poke-through on the pants, and in extreme poses on the shirt. I will probably make some morphs to counter this.
