You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

**Have you Seen Seasons 1&2 of Gundam00?
Man I was totally pulled into it and I hear there will be a full
length Film in 2010 based on the Characters from Gundam00
I cant wait!!!
Cheers
Anime, yes. Gundam, no. The Big O and FLCL are my favorite mecha anime.
I think some people have a little too much time on their hands, but that real sized gundam looks cool anyways. Now all someone needs to do is build a life-sized Godzilla for Tokyo Bay.
EDIT: the sci fi name changes erks me about as much as Cartoon network having live shows.
EDIT2: The show is either gundam or Ravemaster depending on when you are watching.

Gundam?
GUNDAM?
Well.... yes, I have heard of it.... a little.... actually I am the biggest Italian fan of it!
Seriously, Gundam had a MAJOR impact on my childhood. I was 10 when the first RX-78-2 was delivered for the first time to the White Base in Side 7, and the concepts of "second generation robot" were absolutely new.
For the first time, a giant robot was seen as a simple MACHINE, not an invincible mechanical super-hero. It was basically a TANK and there was also an explaination (although quite simplified) for its humanoid form. It had FUEL, it had AMMUNITION, and it could run out of it. It could be damaged, could need replacements and spare parts, and so on.
(It had an on-board learning computer! I decided to study Comupter Science because of it!)
And... the story! Until Gundam, every Japanese mecha anime was basically the same thing: an Holy War of a single hero who defended the Earth against the Bad Guys From Outer Space.
Gundam was a new approach. There were no "bad guys". It was not an epic story of Good Men against Evil Aliens. It was a dirty war of men against men, and each side had its own motivations, strenghts and weak points.
It was not perfect: after all it was anyway a commercial show, made to sell models, and many points of the plot were slightly childish. But it was a start, a pioneer, and it had, has and always will have a special place in my heart!

yes what I Like About the various Gundam Series is the political intrigue set in a world where there is no clear
Dominant military super power.
@senyac you are going to really like
"Gundam 00" IMHO, every episode is a
Cliff hanger

Amusingly, I still haven't watched Gundam 00 yet. In fact, haven't even seed Seed yet (though I hear it's angsty). I started out with Gundam Wing, and then watched Gundam X, 08th MS Team, the original Gundam series, and then 0083, which still remains my favorite (all hail the neat design of the GP02 Physalis).
Then again, I'm behind on a lot of anime. Only just recently finished watching Fullmetal Alchemist. c.c I'm always fashionably late into scenes.

That looks pretty cool at night. The jet pack lighting was a nice touch.

Just finished watching the second season of "Gungdam00"
and got inspired to Do my own Render of a mobile suit
in C4D.
Just wondering if there were any other Fans here who
enjoy Mech/Anime as much as I do.
Cheers
