ok, not been here for a while, and after starting a hell of a lot, books, storys music...its all in the name of a film/movi i wish to do, the main idea is to build up my skills, but... i have come to the end of what my current PC will do... as my PC is old and budget... so, what im after... is help

at the moment, what i would want to do is a short film, just two models (women) having a small fight, this is going to hold every/most of my skills and also if i can pull it off hold all the spexial FX needed for the main film..when i get a better PC, but... 2 days to render 5 seconds is a little... long, so... help is needed, im willing to share most details of whats going on through skype/MSN if i can find a few like minded, the idea for the moment is a shared project for this little 5 ~10 minute film, camera angles, lighting wind... etc all needed for the end thing, voices will be looked for after...

if you want examples of what i can do, i'll add a few pics up here, and also play about with whats needed, i can kinda do most of the basics and advanced stuff... but not smoke... still fumbeling to get that, if you know how to do it...let me know, as i like to work things out as i go.. but after a month of trying... yea lol

so... any one out there that wants a little fun in a small project? not sure how to get all the bits from my PC to yours for the joint thing... but im sure its possible lol

also...this is two ways, if i can help you... find/make you stuff as a thanks, shout :) or any advice...thats also wanted like cutting render times, with out losing res/shading etc

thanks if you are reading this and nodding with a grin, ma names john, shout... and lets see what happens :)

thanks

it sounds like a good case for using bvh fighting files.  I know one of these guys is selling 'em but don't recall whom.  I can't do the work meself unless:

  • it's porno
  • they buy me some new computers
  • I get at least 10 gofers

(in case anybody asks)
p.s. if ya post yer request in poser forum, hundreds more will see it and they may respond.

truebone.com is a good site for bvh files.

Hres a hint. Set your movie setting to use Display settings rather than render settings and you can generate a 5 second animation in a matter of minutes (maybe quite a few minutes) but much faster than rendering each frame.  Its good for checking action and camera angles but you wont get some of the lighting and textures .

To cut render times substantially you will need a huge increase in your system processor.

I dont know if Daz Studio is much faster than Poser but it might be worth a look .  The animation controls are much better than they used to be .

You can also go with 24 frames per second rather than 30 - maybe not a saving for a 5 second anim but worthwhile for a 5 minute short.
