Quote - Watch cleavers and big toes , you will walk funny without one .
Without a cleaver or big toe? ;-)
I feel like Ive had days like this. In my office, the only hardware that seems to die a premature death are the very drives that are there to back up your work. Out of the four Ive had attached to my computer over the last two years, two have died. Its getting to the point where your back up drives need back ups.
Best regards,
chikako

Glad things have started to look up for you now. And that's true... You will need a back up to the backup to the back up to the back up of the hard drive in your computer. Funny how it looks like the genealogy tree...

yup the Furnace is working again... all the guy did was open a panel and shine a flashlight in and state 'the welds gone on the exchanger' before slapping a condemned notice on it.
the guys handling the warranty have to do a pressure test to confirm his findings to meet the warranty conditions and the thing held pressure with no leaks at all.....
I try to back up things on DVD. I have a rather nice external DVD burner. Not perfect, but decent provided you remember to do it and take the time. I'll be glad when I get my new computer. I can back up data on the two drives in in my old one as well as DVDs.
The cleaver to the foot and the furnace, I can't help ya with. Though I did crush the big toe on my left foot several years ago. It's only in the last couple of years I've been able t6o bend it at all. I'd rather have cut it lol.
Sounds like a dishonest furnace repairman to me. I've unfortunately had some dealings with unscrupulous business people myself. Which is why I have a crap computer now.

lets see in the last 3 weeks.
a 400GB HD failed. lost all but the family photos. (300GB of downloads poof)
my Logitech MX Revolution died when the charger stopped, well, charging.
the replacement HD we got for the 400gb (a 1tb Samsung) is making those clicking noises we all hate.
I dropped a meat cleaver on my foot, cutting across my big toe to the bone.
A simple service call to see why the heating furnace was leaking water from the condenser, the tech takes one look at the heat exchanger and states the welds gone and slaps a condemned notice on it. his firm quote us $6000 for replacement - tho I find out that part has a lifetime warranty from our neighbor who's exact same unit just failed... under the warranty program while they can't repair it, they'll discount a new furnace for you.. $2000 tho.
now before you all think my life is reaaaaaallly bad, things are looking up again. I won a voucher from here on the where is contest... Logitech sent me a brand new MX and the furnace had to have a pressure test as part of the warranty claim - which it passed with flying colours. the 'parted' weld was just dirt.
oh and my foot's healing. still aching, but I can walk on it now....
