Subject: question about the Deco/Decoco/Maybe figures

theschell ( ) posted Thu, 17 September 2009 at 6:19 PM · edited Sat, 02 November 2024 at 2:32 PM

I'm wondering if anyone knows if there is clothing from any other figures that might be compatable for use with Dec0/Decoco/Maybe by Akatora... there isn't much made specific to those figures so i'm wondering if any other figure is close enough that i could use that figures clothing with these figures... so far nothing seems to work too well though i've had a litle success with some stuff made for Aiko/V4 (with alot of tweeking)... help any one?

have you tried wardrobe wizard to convert the clothing?

no i haven't... the prob i'm having is most of the clothing for other figures is either too large and has to be rescaled or refitted on some way and none of it really keeps it shape at all when it's refitted... specially on the decoco figure... the clothing deforms severely when fitted using fit to... and at times can become unrecognisable.. and no amount of tweeking fixes it... so i'm hoping maybe someone will know of another figure that the clothing would work for decoco and the rest.. it's a real shame there isn't more for these figures... and i don't have any skill with modelling clothing... :(

When converting clothing from one figure to another, it gets a little bit more involved than just rescaling the clothing. The clothing "conforms" to the figure because the clothing skeleton is set up to bend exactly the same way as the original figure. So, if you rescale the GEOMETRY for the figure, you also have to adjust the "skeleton" of the clothing so that it bends the same as the "new" figure that the clothing will fit.

So that's why the "fit to" doesn't work initially. The joints of your figures are different. While there are clothing converters such as Wardrobe Wizard, you'd also have to find one that also provides support for the figures you're trying to fit. And I don't see them among Wardrobe Wizard's list.

Are there any other figures that have a similar body shape and size to the ones you are trying to fit?

EvilInnocence has a Crossdresser license for Decoco and Maybe.

Generally speaking, I've had good luck with the Crossdresser conversions (assuming that the original clothes were made well; actually the DAZ MFD converts really well,  I've found).

You might try converting A3 clothes to Deco (grown-up version), Sadie to Decoco or Hiro 3 to Maybe.  They probably have the closest conversion.
