Subject: Werid question/need... Export all layers to files - with two layers in each

HI All,  I am trying to do something thats a bit too complicated for me and I am hoping its not impossible.  I have a photoshop file of about 45 layers.  I am trying to export each of those layers to its own png file, but i need the 'background" layer AND each of the given layers in each file.   So:

File1 background+layer 1
File2 background+layer 2
File3 background+layer3

I am trying to add baked shadows onto a base fabric texture.  So I want to be able to do this with a wide variety of fabrics without having to save the files 45 times clikcing and unclicking layers each time... If you know a solution, I would be SOOOO grateful!

Is there a non-painful way of doing this?

JUst uncheck the little Eye of all the layer you do not want and then SAVE AS. You can go through all layers that way and save them all individually.

I would rather be Politically Incorrect,
Then have Politically Correct-Incorrectness!!!

this might take a little time but what i'd do is make a LAYER COMP out of each layer...

what i mean is i'd select  a layer plus the background and make it LAYER COMP ONE, turn off the one layer and select the next layer and make that LAYER COMP TWO, ... do this for each set, then go under the FILE menu - to SCRIPTS - select LAYER COMPS TO FILE.  PNG is not an option but you could  keep them as PSDs and make a quick ACTION to save them as a PNG.

let me know if you want more details (like screen shots...)

Thanks for responding... Doing each one by hand with hide and show was too cumbersome, I want to be able to do this with a wide variety of background patterns across all 50 layer files i have... I am impatient lol, and want it easy.

I kept poking at it and came up with a solution i can live with.  I batch saved all layers as their own photoshop files and used actions to sandwich them - by adding a layer to the pds file, moving it to the bottom layer and filling with the background texture I wanted) - and create the png files i needed.  This worked out since now i am able to change the background fill pattern and created updated files with one click.  It's kinda snazzy, i never used actions before.

Thanks again for the responses!

An actionscript is just what I was about to suggest.
