I used them sometime ago and they worked perfectly, they conformed perfectly.

But i'm noticing that now they don't work.

Look at this pic. The character is the one i converted them for, but now it's all wrong!!

Why?

Do WW1 converted clothing gradually lose data memory and don't read the converted internal stuff correctly??

And no, i haven't moved, any of my Poser files.

Other items that i converted still work fine..

NOTE:  I have DAZ Studio 3 also, and there it doesn't work either but some character which in POser i saved to the libraries wwearing that dress when the dress DID work, still works when i load it. So if i had a character with the dress conformed to it and saved it to the libraries, the dress still works fine in both poser and daz Studio

Ok guys i made a  test and it's not looking good.

I loaded the character who  has the dress on from my libraries. The dress is conformed perfectly and works.

Then i deleted the character and left the dress on.

Then i loaded the character with the dress again. now i have 2 copies of the same dress. One conformed to the character, and the other is not.

The one conformed on it already looks great.

  1. Hide the conformed dress
  2. Conform the other dress to the character..
and GUESS WHAT??? It doesn't conform!!!!!  body parts come out.

So, what's going on here?

By the way i'm using WW1 because WW2 doesn't do well with this dress.

But isn't it kind of weird that the dress doesn't work

Here's when i attached the previously loaded dress

ANyways guys, i managed to solve the problem, at least for now till this new file becomes corrupted.

I loaded the Character in the libraries that has the dress on and which works perfectly. Then i saved THAT dress( even though it's the same dress as the one i already had in the libraries) to the libraries. and now it seems to work!!!

Ok I'm back with a discovery.

So now i have my new copy of the dress in the libraries.

I made my character stand in a Restored T pose, and loaded the dress and conformed it..guess what? IT DDIN"T CONFORM

But the i tried it again. Delete that dress.
Then Pose my character with one of my Bought Poses, then loaded the dress again and conformed it. Well ,, now it conforms!!!!

That's a weird thing but i guess it's a work around. HOWEVER Now i'm discovering a whole new problem. Once i got the clothes conformed. It used to be that if i used the translate tool and moved the feet apart, that the dress would follow the thighs.. BUT NOW it doesn't.

It's all corrupted. Anyway to fix coorupted WW1 wizard files that were working fine before ?
Im on macos x, and i have already Fixed permissions and cleaned up my mac.

FIRST PIC: Finally thought everything was right

SECOND PIC: Then i translated the foot and look what happens. Back when I first converted the dress, a few months ago, the dress would follow the leg and look nice

OK People, i know i'm just being a bother and no one is reading my thread but

i have good news. What i did is, redid the dress's conversion using the CONVERT FROM( V3 base)
and , now i just used the dress i had in the libraries ( which i saved today)and it worked!!!

now it moves with the legs.

Ok end of thread, thanks

Maybe it was saved wrong the first time somehow?

josterD ( ) posted Tue, 22 September 2009 at 5:22 PM

xantor, well in my last post here in this thread i was happy that i fixed it.. BUT guess what , it's back to the same thing again.

I don't know..

Hey everyone i got a clue as to why it may be doing this..while before( long time ago when i first converted it) this didn't happen.

I decided to use WWizard 1's CONVERT FROM button..

And even though i had already done this just a while ago.. it went through and did it!!!!

WHICH IS weird cause usually , before when i used to do this.. IF i had already done the CONVERT FROM thing, i would get a message "It's already been done ...so WWIzard will skip this process"

So something is wrong, maybe my mac is deleting the conversion file right after, so that's why maybe it's not working

I would suggest compare the original and modified geometry, and then compare the original and copy joint positions, and that of the intended figure, That should tell you whats happened.  I think most likely is a figure converted in the scene , without it being saved back to the library. Reload the scene and you get the copy on disk, not what was i8n memory.

I dont know enough about wardrobe wizard , if thats PHILC then contact him with the issue . www.philc.net .

Oh my, you know what's happening now?

I load a character, then i load the unconverted( Base)Dress that was meant for v3 Base, and even thuogh i haven't converted it to the character i load, IT takes that chahracter's shape PERFECTLY.

what the **? That's strange

I wonder if Poser's oddball file search feature is causing you to load the wrong version of the dress half the time. Maybe try renaming the fitted dress something completely unique?

I've noticed that as well with some files -- for no reason, they inexplicably try to load the wrong geometry. It doesnt happen very often, but when it does, it's seriously annoying.
