Well it definately renders slower than before. But I knew that going into it, I'm glad I don't use Bryce too much for animations, but I do like the program itself. 4 was faster though. But I guess I'll be able to do some really high-res gorgeous stills, which is a nice thing. Maybe Corel will make some magic patch that will speed up the renders, I like the render options though, what a bunch of choices. I mean it's slower but Bryce 4 wasn't a speed demon in itself either... I gues it's just one of the things we'll all have to deal with if we want to do our thing in Bryce. That's my only complaint, that the renders are slow, other than that I really like the new upgrade, it's got some nice features, and $99 wasn't the end of the world. Come on Corel, make us a patch to speed it up!!!!!!!!! kaom
Same problem here with the serial numbers. I believe I was one of the first people on the planet to buy Bryce 4 (man those were the days ... I was actually MASSIVELY EXCITED about a Metacreations upgrade!) so naturally I have a Meta version. The frustrating thing is by the time I get done putting the three kids to bed and have some time check it out, Corel is of course closed. So I'll have to call tomorrow. I'm glad I got NextDay shipping for free, or I'd be really peeved I wasted two days. ;-) -Tim

I just got home from COMP USA, with my new $99 upgrade to Bryce 5. Sure enough when I installed it, my old serial didn't work, so I called Corel. I had to wait online for 20 minutes but they gave a new serial number. The service was slow, but they did take care of it in about one minute, I give them credit fot it. The call should be a free 1-88 number, it was a long distance number instead, but at least they took care of it. I'm rendering a test scene now, checking out the depth of field and trees. I do like the new interface, other than the renders being slow(they always were) I can't complain yet, it seems to be running fine. MMMM my words taste good, hey pass the salt & pepper!!!!LOL kaom
