Subject: Smith Micro and DAZ new buddies?

I got an interesting email from DAZ today and it makes me wonder if the Creators of DAZ and Poser are thinking about teaming up in the future.   The only thing that makes me think this is because I noticed that DAZ Studio recently has some new features to it very similar to Posers and Poser has the library that reminds me of DAZ's library.

Does any have any knowledge about these two camps? Is there a growing relationship building between DAZ and Poser? Or am I just seeing things?  Just curious.

You mean the new offer on Poser 8?

They had a similar offer when P7 was released.  ;)  Nothing new, really.

At the moment, both companies have to play well together.  Poser has the largest and longest established user base (meaning most of the money spent on content will go to Poser content). DAZ has the largest content store for Poser.

Occasionally there are interesting bits of cooperation.  About half a year ago, I saw a vendor at DAZ selling a Miki outfit that was not offered with a version that was compatible with a DAZ figure.

DAZ sells iClone and Crazy Talk too like forever and no one wonders about that. Where's the difference when they offer Poser or doing this little promo thing now? The only people who are constantly assuming that  DAZ and the makers of Poser are having a bad relationship are users in most every forum available. That's quite funny.
