Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 03 12:46 am)
I think P3DO can do it. Possibly the pro (paid) version. I have a vague idea of seeing my PZ3s that way, but I haven't used it for a while - I mostly just archive them L

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.

As TrekkieGrrrl said, P3dO has a PZ3 3D viewer and all kind of Poser files as well (CR2, PP2, HR2, even PZ2) compressed or not, zipped or not.You have the ability to save a thumbnail from the P3dO render and thus create/override the Poser thumbnail.
You can also set that thumbnail from any Poser Render as Tashar59 said.
Once the PZ3 has a thumbnail P3dO will show both the PZ3 and its thumbnail in the same cell (as it does with other Poser files).
Limits:
The PZ3 render in P3dO is not accurate. It is not as complete as Poser render, so don't expect P3dO to be able to display complex scenes. But you will be able to figure out what is in the PZ3.

Ah I thought it was P3DO ^_^
Thanks for clarifying. I really should use that program more. Whenever I use it I love it. But I tend to forget about it >_< I have too many Poser-related programs L
Yarp, now that you're here.. P3DO will load content directly into Poser 8, right? I think I saw that somewhere in relation to the miniscule library icons thing...

Hi TrekkieGrrrl, I have got the same problem with this too ambitiuous software. I don't forget about P3dO but I sometimes forget about Poser. I have too many 3D softwares to look after ;)
Yes, P3dO now opens directly into Poser without the need of Prpc.
This feature is not related to P8. Any Poser is ok and I even managed to make it available with Poser Pro pack.
This has been made available with P3dO 2.2 (last May). I had to fix a minor bug with P8, this is probably what you saw. So you must have P3dO 2.2 (or P3dO pro 2.2 in your situation) and install the upgraded Poser Plugins Pack for P8:

As you can guess it is a fantastic improvement.

Wee! Downloading now. Can't wait to play. I'm usually using PBoost but that won't load anything into P8.. not sure why. I'd rather use P3DO then :)
Now if I could change my PBooost banks with it L... oh well.. I can do that manually.. just takes a little work. PBooost seems deserted, nothing new on the page since 2008 :(

Hi simontemplar,
there's nothing special to do. P3dO is an explorer, as a starter use it like the Explorer.
In order to open a file from a Pbooost bank into Poser simply double-click it in P3dO (there's nothing to set in Poser - no Prpc Python listener in Poser- ).
Unfortunately P3dO will not rename Banks on the fly and thus you won't be able see this stuff in Poser like you did with PBooost. So if you have Poser 4 you have a problem.
I have already discussed this with a former PBooost user about this. He told me the above was enough for his needs but I can add Banks support to P3dO.
Please contact me at sales_at_senosoft_dot_com if you want to discuss about this.
btw P3dO 2.2.5 is coming - very- soon ;)

I've heard that there is a program that can give a thumbnail or a preview of a .pz3 file. I have quite a few .pz3 files and this would be a help. Does anyone know the answer to this. Thanks.
