Subject: halloween contest questions...

this will be my first submission to a contest, I was wondering if its ok to put your submission in your gallery as well, I noticed there are a few who have but change the background or something minor so I figured this area might be grey? also, can we sign our works with our rendo handle at the bottom of the work? or is that a bad idea...

thanks

If you mean the 'don't go in there" contest
Part of the rules:

  • Entries MUST be new artwork not previously posted online, or anywhere else publicly
  • Entries MUST NOT appear online anywhere else during the contest or until the Contest Winners have been Posted

AnnieD is correct, dread_siren, you can't post anything previously posted, and you can't post it before the end of the contest (when the winners have been declared).

Thanks, and good luck!  I look forward to your entry :)

thanks for the clarification :) I put mine in, just wanted to make sure about rendo galleries.

I do wish that all would abide by the rules though, makes it confusig for people new to the contests.

Have you seen something that is not abiding by the rules of the contest? If so,  you can send a note to one of the contest managers with your concerns. :)

Thanks,

Jani

Also you cannot put your Rendo username on your entry as all entries are anonymous

dread_siren ( ) posted Wed, 30 September 2009 at 11:53 AM

ok, I botched on my 2d and put that the graphics pack was created by me, thus giving away my identity, is there a way to take that part out of my submission? its not directly putting my ID but I want to make sure I'm 100% in compliance.

StaceyG ( ) posted Wed, 30 September 2009 at 12:58 PM

I don't show your identity on your entry so either one of the contest managers edited it or I'm missing something

AnnieD ( ) posted Wed, 30 September 2009 at 3:56 PM

There are images submitted that have signatures on the image.

Hi :o)

(I'm posting here rather than starting a new thread, since my question is also in regards to the Halloween contest).

I'm just wondering how long it takes (approximately) for submitted entries to be approved / disapproved. Basically, I'm not 100% sure if my browser uploaded my entry correctly or not, or perhaps I might have mucked up during the submission process (my PC was misbehaving at the time).

I'm assuming that the staff involved are very busy and have dozens of other things to attend to as well, so most likely it's just a matter of them having time to process the entries.

Just curious - I'm a newbie at these render contests too.

Cheers :o)

took me a few days, that was in 2d and story though. prob alot more waiting in 3d. when did you submit? might give the mods a better time frame to write you regarding time frame if they know when it was, also keep checking your email (not site mail) when you are approved a leter is sent there.

Headkase ( ) posted Wed, 07 October 2009 at 12:53 AM · edited Wed, 07 October 2009 at 12:55 AM

Thanks dread_siren... I only posted a bit over a day ago (from typing this message), so most likely the entry hasn't even been looked at yet, going by your reply.

I think my entry uploaded in the end - I had a page come up with a message saying something like  "your entry will be reviewed shortly".... I guess "shortly" could mean a few days ;o)

....

If the mods are reading this... my image has blood depicted; I'm not sure if this contravenes the TOS (no violence is actually shown; just implied). If necessary, my image can be resubmitted without the blood if that is an issue. (Not sure of the boundaries here).

Thanks :o)

Headkase, your entry made it thru upload..it just hasn't been processed yet. If there is a problem at all, a contest manager will email you 😉

Thanks!
