LOL...it sure would Tom! Hey...sorry Pakled I didn't know this has already been posted. I certainly don't mean to super saturate everyone with it. I just didn't realize and thought the folks would be interested.

hahahahahaaaa omg holywood SO needs to come down from its special effects fetish... i mean really.. look at this! its ridiculous! i mean okay its really skillfully done but honestly where the hell are you still supposed to relate to anything at all that happens in these movies?
We need more movies that go back to the art of story telling.. or something that even if radically fictional still has a sense of reality to it, like District 9.

By the way, i downloaded the 2012 documentary. I watched about 1 3rd of it then got bored.. lol its flippin crazy! all these people obsessed with 2012.. galactic allignments, nostradamus' lost book of drawings.. there is even some lady who says aliens told her the world would end, then the world didnt end as she predicted, so she adjusted her prediction to 2012 cuz well.. if everyone else says so..
And u know whats the worst thing? After 2012 no one gets time to feel stupid about themselves for crapping their pants waiting for the end of the world, cuz then its 2013 and we have an unlucky number in the year, so every gullible person on the planet is gunna wonder if maybe the ancient mayans calculated things wrong..

@quest, no i dont think you posted anything double dont worry :) I think pakled was just referring to the fact that the end of the mayan calender is being so hyped everywhere lately.

By the way, dont feel too offended about my hollywood effects and 2012 rant, I do still appreciate the awesome skills behind the computer graphics shown :)

Fantastic! I can't wait for this one to hit town...the movie I mean.
I love this stuff. Can't get enough of it. Nick Cage's Knowing was awsome too.
Oh and when it comes to 2012....be afraid, be very afraid.

Knowing was good yea! Though i bet a bit of a sick mind is required for creating some of the details about the disasters that happened in that movie.. lol

Oh not at all offended Ray. I kinda thought it was extreme to the max myself when I first got the link from the CG-Society but this is what Hollywood is putting out there these days. I guess they’ve run out of storylines to use and portray their dramatic CG special effects and decided to bring it all to a head with this film. Nevertheless it’s out there and must be considered from a CG perspective with an objective and critical artistic eye even if the storyline seems contrived and far-fetched.

LOL…I’ve been away on a short but refreshingly exciting holiday and I thought Pakled was referring to a prior post I had missed by someone named Mayan. All the so-called prophesy documentaries didn’t occur to me while reading the post.

2021 seems to be the latest in a list of apocalytic movies built around the Mayan theme or the Biblical armagedon theme. Simply put, the world is toast and very soon.

A couple of points to ponder though are that in the Christian Bible God promised that he would never flood the world again - he doesn't mention anything about not frying the world instead. (See 'Knowing')

The Mayan calendar ends in December 2012. But what if they just got fed up with carving out dates in stone?

There is another 2012 ending besides god leaving the tub over run or the stove on,,,,  It is the end of the world as we know it spiritually...  We are entering the age of Aquarius a new dawn...  The collective consciousness of our planet is being impacted with profound changes.   There are forces that do not want this to happen and intend on diverting the spiritual cosmic event into a disastrous end of the world...

From:   http://www.librarising.com/cosmology/2012.html

*There are great cycles in the cosmos which rule great events. One such is the cycle of the Great Zodiac Ages which spans almost 26,000 years. This is the time it takes our planet's equatorial plane(due to its axial wobble) to regress one full cycle along the solar plane(ecliptic). Each zodiac age can last anywhere from 2000 to 2300 years. The Age of Pisces in which we live is one of the shortest ages, beginning in 26 AD and ending in 2012 AD -or a total of just over 1986 years. In 1945 we entered the last degree of Pisces. Here are the ages and their durations...

Aries, Pisces, Libra, Virgo 1986.37 years
Aquarius, Scorpio, Leo, Taurus 2129.04 years **
Capricorn, Sagittarius, Cancer, Gemini** 2291.28 years*

The original link offers a much better quality video than the one I felt compelled to post here due to site language advisory. But because it is of so much better quality, I feel obliged to offer the link for those who wish to view the better quality. Consider yourself forewarned that this site would fall under language advisory if it were Renderosity. Funny that there should be a language advisory for the web site but the movie itself is rated PG-13.

Astronomers use the Zodiac as a map to the stars contilations....   but I should have not gone to that website... I was just showing a different angle to this 2012...  which is totally different from this Hollywood  terror out look of 2012..

can wait till it plays in the theater...

ah, lol sorry to bash it lol I have nothing against measuring the movements of various objects in the universe :) Its just so strange to me that people extract so much meaning out of the paralax of objects so very far away...

I guess i just dont grasp how one goes from "hey that dot in the sky will align with that dot in the sky in a few years years" to "this period of time will bring good onto the earth" and "that period of time will bring bad onto the world" or  "you are stubborn because u are born in this month" etc.

And so far no one can coherently explain to me any thought process that connects any of the observations to the meaning that gets attached tho them...

The result is a lot of sceptic shrugging on my side lol
