Tom,That scanner appears to be a discontinued model. Here is the support page link regarding SCAN QUALITY issues.

I scanned two photos to copy and the scans are unusable. There are no extreme settings affecting the scans.
See the dots in the second picture and the bad color problems in the first scanned photo?
What do you think..I don't know much about scanners or how the image is actually scanned but it appears either the internal hardware is dying or the software is missing a few pieces.
Is it ready for the trash?
