I already bought this but it was by raytracer when I got it. Just curious, it looks exactly the same as the one on sale by vanishing point. Wondering if previous buyers will get an update to the newest version. Also even though it's the same name there was no warning that I already own it?

Ratracer completely pulled out from R'osity some time ago and I am not surprized that his items are showing up elsewhere.  To my knowledge, the models are the same but I haven't checked out product posted @VanishingPoint.

Vanishing Point bought all the models made by Ratracer. We unfortunately do not have a record of any previous purchases and the name is not exactly the same, the original version was called "Eerie Asylum", ours is called "Eerie Asylum (for Poser)", to differentiate it from the Vue version.

While the model looks exactly the same, we did quite a lot of work on the models, making all the geometry external and making the model slightly easier to use.

If you can send me the original purchase invoice for the Ratracer model, and the invoice for the new purchase, I will see what I can do. I will send you my e-mail in a private message.

Does that mean that all Renderosity purchasers of the Asylum are eligible for the upgrade?  I bought it here, but did not also purchase the VP version.

Sorry, but no, if we had to supply all the Renderosity customers with free upgrades, then what was the point of us buying the whole collection from Ratracer, we wouldn't make a cent off any free upgrades. We bought the collection from ratracer to make sure these models will still be available to new customers, instead of dissapearing into that great big rendering farm in the sky.

You are not missing anything in the upgrade except external geometry, so it renders slightly faster, so it is not really something that is essential to have. The model still looks exactly the same, has all the same textures, parts and features.

In the future it would probably be more prudent if you handed out free upgrades in private then. Just sayin'. You know how feelin's get hurt around here.
