Subject: V4 to V3?

summer1412 ( ) posted Sat, 24 October 2009 at 6:36 PM · edited Thu, 26 December 2024 at 4:46 PM

I got V4, and am very pleased with it, but have gigs and gigs of V3 items.

When I was getting to load V4 the other day, I noticed a character in the folder that said "V4 to V3". I also saw this from the V2-V3 upgrade back in the day.

What I'm wondering is, what exactly is that for, and how does it work? Can I use V3 clothing with it, or textures?

Any answers would be great. =)

Thanks!

yes that is exactly what that figure is for, the V4 to V3 figure is rigged to use the V3 clothing

But be aware that you lose all the benefits of morph capacity by doing that.

Body morphs yes, V4 Head morphs work with V4 to V3, if you want V3 bodymorphs than you need to use V3.

What exactly do you mean by that? I'm curious as to what will be lacking by using the figure. What is compatible with it as far as morphs?

In other words, if I have a V4 character face morph, will it work with that figure?

Yes V4 to V3 can use all the V4 face morphs, and textures, what hborre was referring to was full body morphs, since the V4 to V3 figure is actually the V4 mesh reshaped to V3 size she doesn't take V3 body morphs and since the base shape and grouping is changed she cant take the V4 FBMs either.

Ooooh, I see...so if I were to use a FACE morph from a character pack of mine, it would work, but the body morphs won't?

Exactly!

Well damn. Hm. But I don't really care, the textures and clothing are what matters to me... so if the V3 clothing and the V4 textures are in the clear, I can manage. nod

Does V4 to V3 use V3 UV maps?

If you have any of Wyrmmaster's magnet sets you can use those with V4 to morph the body.  They're made for V3 but with minor adjustments work well with V4. The plus is that it morphs the clothes as well.

V4 to V3 retains the V4 UV Mapping meaning the she takes V4 textures
