Do any of you ever use any of my models? Are there any faults in any of them?

bopperthijs ( ) posted Fri, 30 October 2009 at 3:33 PM

I used your scubadiver once in a rather naugthy scene.(hardly recognisable, I'm afraid)  I hope you don't mind.

thank you for all your freebies, you do a great job in creating "off the middle of the road" models.

best regards,

Bopper.

I have a number of your items, and never had any problems.

Is there a reason you ask ?

I've used your Low Rez Man in overalls to be an Auton in a Doctor Who image but never posted it.

lmckenzie ( ) posted Fri, 30 October 2009 at 5:51 PM

I've use your divrswim utility to generate poses, also some of the SCUBA gear. No problems with anything.

I have use your low rez figures for setting up scenes where polys count. Downloaded other stuff haven't tried... But seem useful depending on scene Good stuff  thanks

Never used them but it's fun to watch what you come up with and how they're used. Never understood, though, what it is with you and the divers :)

Anthony - your models are WAY cool brother, my library is FULL of your stuff. You are almost like the central source of underwater / aqautic gear for underwater scenes. Look over at DAZ or anywhere else - noone has hardly even SCRAPED that subject matter as sufficiently as you have. WE LOVE YOUR MODELS!!! MORE MORE MORE DUDE!!!

Your helicopter ROCKS to!!!!

pakled ( ) posted Fri, 30 October 2009 at 8:03 PM

I've downloaded quite a few over the years. I think I've used your muzzle flash at least once...possibly a helmet or two (been downloading at least since '01...so that covers a lot of pics...;)

Now the only thing I've ever wondered about over the years is textures; I confess I don't have a complete handle on them myself. Sometimes the specularity on the textures seems shiny, but that could be by design. They're your models, you can do 'em any way you want. Just thinking that there'd be room for cammo, metallic, etc., kind of textures on various uniforms.

Still, I've got a ways to go to catch up to your modeling level, don't stop now...

I've used the flame thrower item, if I recall correctly.

I don't know much about WWII naval diving, so can't use most of those, unfortunately.

I've used props from several categories. I never had an issue with any of them.  Very good quality IMHO!

Any chance of posting some of those images?

Mugsey ( ) posted Sat, 31 October 2009 at 3:16 PM

One of them's posted right here on the thread, and as I recall I saw several images in the gallerys that had your stuff in there, particularly the UFO mobile, and the man in chemical suit. I had some images over here at the house (remember when we were doing a retexturing thing with the UFO SHADO 1 TRUCK?), they were on disk in my archives, so your bound to find examples in the library. Heck - do you remember the LATCHWORM that me, brycetech, and ajax worked on? I found that over there to, but it was only on one image though.

Not used 'em myself, they aren't really my style but they do look pretty well made

I keep meaning to show those SeaPatrol goons being routed by the scantily clad commando femmes of the Underwater Liberation Front, but they always insist on ditching their kit and doing other things...

I've used 'em from time to time.  Ages back, I posted a pic, "Terminus Est", which you were good enough to comment on, featuring your skip model.

U nfortunately, too many images are uploaded for me to look at them all: all that I can do is to look at some and call gallery text search for "Appleyard", which does not find any images where my name was mistyped or not credited. Gallery text search for "chemical" found 395 images.

Sorry :: what was the Latchworm?

The resuts of gallery text search are: Appleyard 152, Appleyard's 11, Appleyards 1.

With wildcarding, search for Appleyard* found 163 entries, and search for Appley* found 164.

Several of them are uses of my old-type aqualung model by MikeMGermany as part of a Martian alien's lifesupport system.

Images that I made, show at http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/browse.php?user_id=659

Your DePent and DeTriang have been in my toolkit for years and are very useful.  Thanks!

I just reposted the Latchworm anthony - it's in the freebies right now.

I've used your tools mostly. The rsr to Obj thing, I don't think anyone else ever did that. And granted it's practically an outdated issue nowadays, but back in them days there were still props with rsr instead of objs. Also a few other ofyour tools, but I can't remember the name of them now, I use a load of various Poser tools all the time - whatever fits the bill. I've also downloaded most of your props. Can't remember if I've ever used them in a published image though.

I have used some of your UFO models in the UFO Moonbase thread here in freestuff forum.

That are really fine models like all your stuff, though I have not so much need for undersea stuff.

According to my model list, I used a number of your models in Tran-Species Exterminator, but only your Propane Flame-Thrower is readily seen. They are probably in some upcoming, as yet unrendered, scenes.

Effective movie.

We have had some similar weather here in Britain recently.

Which other models of mine have you used?

When you have made all the episodes, will you be stringing them together end-to-end as a long movie?

skuts ( ) posted Tue, 03 November 2009 at 11:07 AM

Thanks, Anthony. The script I'm working from is six pages long and the clip on YouTube represents one third of the first page. I've been working on one ten-second shot set inside of a nightclub for two days, due in large part to the number of characters in the shot. It will probably take another two days to finish. The gods only know how long it will take to finish the film because I have to do animation for work as well.
Recently I used one of your riot helmets in an in-house promo for our tech-support department.

How easy was it texture-mapping the helmet to make any unit insignia on it?

I have just seen your video "Worm Hunters" :: it uses both sorts of my blowtorch gogggles. www.youtube.com/watch

skuts ( ) posted Tue, 03 November 2009 at 12:04 PM

I didn't map it, I just changed the color.
Thanks for reminding me, The Exterminator himself wears one of your blowtorch goggles. The first version of TSE is on my YouTube page somewhere.

What software do you use to chain individual render runs together into a longer sequence, and add sound, and suchlike? Where could I get it from?

markschum ( ) posted Wed, 04 November 2009 at 12:22 AM

www.videohelp.com has a tools and software section. TMPGenC I think will link still sequences , or most any video editor.

skuts ( ) posted Wed, 04 November 2009 at 6:33 AM

I render out my sequences as BMP images and import them into Flash, then I export the sequence as avi. BMP is a lossless format so the images don't lose their integrity which allows me to render scenes with a dozen layers or more and still keep a sharp image.

I have used some of them and like others have noted not had any problems, are you looking for example pics? (Not that I have any, just wondering.)

When is the next episode in the Barsoom night club series likely to appear?

skuts ( ) posted Sat, 21 November 2009 at 4:19 PM

Still working on it. Then I have a decide where to post it. YouTube will let you post movies of babies being incinerated with a flamethrower, but show a nekid lady dancing and you're outa there.

Here is the scene in the Barsoom nightclub. There is some nudity and a split-second of violence
so if those things bother you, please don't look.

The opening shot in the nightclub has about 30 individual characters although many of them are obscured and hidden in the background.

The next scene may be ready in about three or four weeks.

The script for TSE is eight pages long. What you see in this clip represents only the first page.

On the part in the nightclub I think one man was wearing my industrial goggles model.
