I just received this from Smith Micro, 2:30am ET, buddy that was quick. Anyway I followed the information and it worked. So if nothing else, should someone else have the same problem, just click on the link. Never had this problem with Vista so I never knew about it.
Well they would say that wouldn't they? Poser6 was released under the Content Paradise name & Smith Micro took over for Poser7 so they're obviously going to say their version will work in Win7 & not the older one, they're telling porkies, right now I have Poser 6/Pro/8 all installed & FULLY working.
Windows 7 64Bit
Poser Pro 2010 SR1
Thinking about (finally) upgrading to a Windows 7 machine. I had tried Vista and Poser 6 worked very sluggishly. Had to restart the program a number of times as it would crash as soon as I moved a camera or posed a figure. After a number of re-starts it seemed to work.
That was Vista 64-bit. Am looking at a Windows 7 64-bit version machine. Do you think I'll have problems with Poser 6?
I own two licenses for that version of Poser so I want to continue using 6 rather than 7. Thanks,
Rªnce

I just upgraded to Windows 7 and I have to say I like it WELL over Vista, not that I had any problems, I really didn't. . Anyway I tried to install Poser 7 and got a funky error message ,it goes like this
"ERROR EXECUTING FILE. F/Installers/Poser7/Setup.Exe. The requested operation requires elevation".
OK, so I tried to install Poser 6 and guess what, I got the same error message.
Before I decided to post this, I skimmed over the posts and was curious if weather or not anyone else had this same problem, aparently not or they just haven't went over to Win 7 yet.
Now the copy of Win 7 I have is the complete system, not an upgrade, I hate upgrades, so I know that there isn't anything to interfere with the installation except for the OS. I posted my problem with Smith Micro tonight at about 1am ET and hopefully I'll get an answer by next week, If I'm lucky.
Have any of you seen this type of error message before and if so how did you get arround it?
A friend of mine said it was an Installer problem, I'm no programmer so he could be right.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
