Took in account some of the comments made about the ring and redid it with a substitution and playing with IBL..Hopefully it works now.

Incognitas..

I love the concept behind that image. can imagine way loads of stories that comes from it..even real life ones.

Can i dare make a few suggestions though?

The ring..raise it up a bit more on the top bit..it looks as if it has been buried into the stone.. dunno if you meant that deliberalty..if so..sorry.. I mean.. you can get a ring stuck into a stone if it was an archeological dig or something..

The feathers.. did you do it feather by feather or a .mat? texture it? The lower bit of the bird looks gorgeous..the top bit and underneath a bit woodeny..

I dare not give you any suggestions to fix that up.. i'm sorry..been out of bryce for some time.. just dipping my toes in again.. until i get my legs in completely soaked in and stuck .. or uless i get to jump in..

maybe the others can help out here..

Cheers..

You are criticising Noggins crow  there and the texture supplied is his work..I'd never interfere with the maestro's work as he's the best at modelling birds and animals.

however I took a closer look at the ring and you were right.
Have reloaded the altered version.

hmm.. i see what you mean.. maybe try changing your lighting a bit..it does make the feathers way too flat and woodeny.. that ought to bring out the detail in the feathers more..

cheers..
