I cannot open any of the image files in ANY of my graphics programmes PLEASE tell me what I am doing wrong. Thanx Yours Tom

You downloaded Poser 4 and then expect help? Hrrm, perhaps if you'd bought it you'd have a manual, then you could read it.

Marque ( ) posted Sat, 21 July 2001 at 7:57 PM

You get what you pay for, so I guess that's why you're having problems. I suppose you "downloaded" Photoshop 6 as well? Marque

Because the mods don't know yet/are busy/are away/are asleep/[insert alternative] Ya know what amuses me the most about idiots like this. The fact that they can't read. Right at the top of the screen is a neat little statement that really should give the clueless a clue.. **** Please support Curious Labs and the Poser community by reporting any suspected illegal use of Poser and Poser Pro Pack to legal@curiouslabs.com. **** And in big clear easy to read letters too. Go figure. Some people just can't get it through their skulls can they? G

These types of threads amuse me to no end.

actually considering the statements he made about using his graphics editor either he is very very stupid. Or looking for a reaction...

Why don't you ask the guys who stole it in the first place for tech support? They were nice enough to let you help yourself to a program we all paid for, they should give you a hand with this. Or, say, here's an idea!! Why don't you go to www.curiouslabs.com and ask them what the problem is? They are sure to help you with this. Marque

verbal_rapist ( ) posted Sat, 21 July 2001 at 9:26 PM

Oh funny, funny people. once again your shown to be VERY VERY gulible... do you really think that sumone would download poser 4 and then ask for fucking help like that? IDIOTS! I dunt have poser 4 and dont have any intentions on buying it. and if u knew anything it takes 8 hours to download poser 4 not 15 altho I do have adobe photoshop and I did buy that! so fuck u all

Marque ( ) posted Sat, 21 July 2001 at 9:36 PM

Pretty sad little boy aren't you? People steal Poser all the time and are in here asking for help and free models. You must not have much of a life if you have to come in here and bother people. Marque

verbal_rapist ( ) posted Sat, 21 July 2001 at 9:40 PM

Oh well it was worth 2 minutes of my time to see what a reaction i would get. Sorry but I dont see the point in poser 4, is it for people who arn't gifted with natural art skills who can draw on paper, so they draw on computers instead? sorry but hand drawn art is the best

MoonRose ( ) posted Sat, 21 July 2001 at 9:48 PM

ok i wasn't gonna say anything till i read that comment about not having any talent so they use computers instead...(i know this is probably just adding to your simple amusement verbal_rapist)... but i CAN draw and very well thank u. but i enjoy using 3d very very much. and if u actually took the time to look at what these people do...you'd see that it takes ALOT of talent.

bebop ( ) posted Sat, 21 July 2001 at 9:51 PM

So what are you doing on a computer and why did you buy PhotoShop if hand drawn art is the best? "Hand drawn art is the best" depends whose doing it. Do you have any of your "Best" art in the gallery that we can drool over? Oh what a surprise nothing!

verbal_rapist ( ) posted Sat, 21 July 2001 at 9:54 PM

I'm looking now, I am impressed but I find the touch of a pencil alot more staicfiying as I think it take a little more skill. Yes there people have talents. But u can also get 3D effects in pencils and paints! u do not have to resort to computers just yet. I am sorry to all I have offeneded. I may even think about purchasing Poser 4 one day in the near future but for now I will stick with my nude models, pencil and sketch pad

bebop ( ) posted Sat, 21 July 2001 at 10:03 PM

Well remember to keep it sharpened

verbal_rapist ( ) posted Sat, 21 July 2001 at 10:03 PM

You all happen to be rather rude. Just because I disagree with people and wanted to see your reaction you throw amood and try to come together as a big clan? I have Adobe Photoshop as I use it for Graphics and other things. I have only had it for 3 months and I am still learning. yes I am becoming fasinated by this so called "computer art" but the software packages are a little more expensive than a rage of pencils and a set of paints.. and really if your good enough you can achieve the same effects. also what would you rather in your sitting room.. a didgital image of a castle or a lovely oil painted picture of a fine and grand castle?

verbal_rapist ( ) posted Sat, 21 July 2001 at 10:07 PM

I am sure you enjoy computer graphics, the lot of you. And I must say I'm impressed but still it doesn't give the detail or life like images a pencil and paints can give you.

bebop ( ) posted Sat, 21 July 2001 at 10:12 PM

and a pencil and paints don't give you the details a Grahics app does. So what? they are different tools. It's how you use them that counts. It's like saying art with a piece of charcoal is better than art with pen. A pointless meaningless argument

FenixDream ( ) posted Sat, 21 July 2001 at 10:34 PM

I agree with bebop. One of the benefits of a graphics program like Photoshop, Poser, Bryce or whatever, is that it allows people to express their artistic thoughts and dreams in another dimension. With a 3D program you can actually see what your 2D scene would look like from another direction. With something like Photoshop you can blend multiple "manual" artistic technics in a variety of ways.

Questor ( ) posted Sat, 21 July 2001 at 10:38 PM

It's funny how some people, when they open their mouths just to swap feet get offensive, then defensive. If you have such a boring little life that you have to "provoke" a reaction to something you should obviously know would attract a hostile reaction then I suggest you go play with cars on the highway. That at least will add a little interest into your life. As for your other comments Verbal_Rapist. They are not only insulting and offensive to some excellent artists that use computers and 3D they also show how ignorant you are about the whole subject and are hardly worthy of comment. Hopefully you'll eventually get a grip on your life and maybe then you can contribute to the forums rather than just insult them.

ScottA ( ) posted Sat, 21 July 2001 at 11:26 PM

Hmmm. I never looked at the demo version of Poser4. Does it have blank libraries? Maybe this is what the guy downloaded? Moving this to C&D since I can't verify it's warez related. ScottA

Scott, I believe the demo lets you only use the default male, the businessman?

RadArt ( ) posted Sun, 22 July 2001 at 12:54 AM

I can DRAW, and I love using my pencil, and pen, and marker and even the odd paint, but you know what?...I can do so much more with a computer using my talents! I am not connected to any tool, whatever tool I use becomes my pencil, whether it is a computer or my cut finger painting with blood! To live in a bubble and not wish to advance your tools if you CAN is neanderthal and goes against the very inspirations and imaginations and aspirations an artist should have. A need to be creative is only overshadowed by a need to find MORE time to do all that creative stuff we have and tools such as these actually make it possible for us to create better and much more and much faster! So don't tell me about how a pencil is better, BULL!! It is just a learning tool and a medium, and so is the software, and some things come with more bells and whistles and functions to allow us to put more of our imagination into our work that we otherwise may not be able to or be limited from doing. Why should I just do only what a pencil or a paint brush allows me to do, when I can do SO MUCH MORE using tools that allow me more doors to open to what my mind can create.
