Hello,

I may have missed this earlier when the Vue 8 pre-release came out but could someone please tell me how big the Vue 8 file sizes are to download? I live in a very remote community and currently our high speed internet connections are almost as fast as dial-up. I may have to see if e-on will send me my upgrade on DVD rather than attempt to download it.

628MB for disk one.
1.1GB for disk two.

So forget about doing this on dial-up.

Hmmm, I'm wondering if I missed out somehow.  I only got 628 MB in my download.  It consisted of two parts and created a Vue 8 Infinite Install folder (in addition to the rest of the program files)  which e-on advised me to burn on to a CD.  But only 628 MB????

Yes, after you download the program (your 628MB in download which came in two parts), install it and activate it. Once it's activated only then will disk 2 will be added to your account online at e-on.

It's a 1.1GB Zip file called Vue8Extra.zip (1.54GB extracted).

That's because you made a purchase there and then to get it. Most of use would have paid a month ago and got 7.5 then, and a free update to 8.0 today.

Ok I've had my Vue 8, installed it, acivated it, but I don't have any extras in my account!
What is the extras anyway, same as it's been for years now or something new and worth having?

There's atleast some new strata scenes included. I found the downlink (by accident) under my account at e-on earlier.

I got strata scenes with my main DL!!!???
maybe they've altered it to just the one now!!

Your missing out on about 916MB of data you never had before.

Infinite 7.5 extras disk size = 648MB
Infinite 8 extras disk size = 1.54GB

The 1.54GB for Infinite 8 is made up from 192MB of Objects and 1.31GB of Scenes.

Where in Infinite 7.5 it's 648MB is made up from 169MB of Objects and 478MB of Scenes

After receiving James' tip, I still had a hard time finding the link in My Account to the Extra's zip file.  It should be in your account under the heading Registered Products - 4 links down "Download Extras Disk."

(You will have to be logged in to access that page though)

And scroll half way down the page. I've attached an image for reference.
