Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 02 2:22 am)
The graphic card has absolutely no bearing on the speed of rendering.
Coppula eam se non posit acceptera jocularum.
A 64 bit processor and operating system will improve total throughput because of better memory management. Any quad core processor will be better than a dual core or single cpu for a multithreaded application. The graphics card does nothing for Poser except for Opengl preview, but you want to consider if you play games. A dual video card and dual monitors allows you to spread out the preview windows , parameter dials and libraries which can mean less moving of things while working.

Hello poser'ers :)
I am planning to go for a new PC and it comes to my mind that since I am using poser to do quite a lot of rendering, why not go for a system that can significantly reduce the render time!
Reading from some previous posts it seems that having a i7 core system can dramatically improve the render time as it can deliver as much as 4 (or is it 8?) threads at the same time. so i guess probably i7 will be the cpu i will get.
What i am interested in, is the the graphic cards configuration. I am wondering if i should be putting 2 graphic cards together, (e.g. 2x GTX 265 or such), or should i simply go for the high end single graphic card like GTX285 or HD5870? (nope don't suggest 2x gtx 295 or 2x HD5870 :p that's way out of budget lol)
Any input will be greatly appreciated! :)
Thanks a lot in advance!
Peace
