I posted this here because i use Vue and couldnt think of anywhere else it should be posted anyway.

My problem is as you see my monitor is very ALIASED i guess you would call it. I have cleartype off and my Nvidia is set up properly. Any ideas as to why it looks so crappy ?

The monitor is and HPw1907, I just bought it

Screenresolution at 1440 x 900 / 60 Hz and ClearType ON should do the trick for this monitor. Most Home/Office LCD monitors don't work too well in any but the recommended resolution, can be a pain in the proverbial with smaller monitors because the text gets a bit on the small side.

Uh....  I don't think one can screen-capture such an image.  :)

Looks like you are using small fonts, the size seems reduced, not 100%, which may cause the aliasing.

Which is what makes me think that the problem is with your monitor and/or cable (with a slight chance that it's the card).

Personnally, I'd check the cable first (I've had a similar problem when using too high a resolution with a KVM switch).
Ideally try using another cable (one known to work, and if possible, of better quality).

The other thing that is a possibility is that you're not running at the native resolution of the display (1440 x 900).
As you've just started using it, your previous display was probably setup for some other size (maybe 1280 x 800 if it was smaller) and LCDs look terrible when trying to display non-native.

Also if you're using standard analog VGA cable to connect your LCD monitor you should run calibrate/sync (or what ever it is called in your monitor) so your monitor syncs the image correctly to the screen.

When using DVI cable signal is digital and there is no need to sync/adjust the monitor to the signal

Sharpness control is what you're after, in the monitor's setup menu.
