Subject: Looking for Searchlight prop

DocMatter ( ) posted Sun, 15 November 2009 at 7:09 PM · edited Fri, 10 January 2025 at 10:32 AM

I've been looking around (to no avail) for a searchlight prop.  The kind you might see outside a Hollywood premier.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I remember helping a user called "Touchwood" to work on shaders for one.

Is this what you want? Perhaps somebody else will recognize the model? I haven't seen "touchwood" around for a year, but you could try sending him/her a message.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

Bagginsbill -- Thats exactly what I'm looking for.
Darkedge -- Check out the link that baggins posted if you want a good pic.  (But what I need doesn't have to be as detailed as the one in the pic.)

That's what I'm looking for, but "Vanishing Point" says its available here at Renderosity, but I can't find it here anywhere.

Bad timing, I think.

Vanishing Point closed their own store and sold the rights to their products to Rendo ... today. Or something like that.

I suppose Rendo has not yet added the whole product line to the store.

I'd contact Rendo store admins to find out when it will be available.

The VP models just got bought by Renderosity (see FP article), so it might take a while for them to reappear (rebranding, repacking, repromoing, etc.)

Yup, this just happened (vp stuff at rendy).
I'm modeling this, but will be with regular tires...

Try whatever3d dot com,  it can be handy

I was going top do a search light anyway, I'll be glad to model it and pass it on as an untextured .obj and / or .3ds file, but someone else will have to "poserfy" it because right now I'm doing my hovercars and some stuff for the latch worm - and I haven't covered rigging quite yet in my "learn as you do it" itinerary, but A searchlight is DEFINITELY something that I've been wanting to do. The only problem is I don't know if I'll have time to do it right away.

DocMatter, if you want a copy of my searchlight drop me a sitemail and I'll send it to you - gratis.
