To render in a separate process, goto Edit->General Preferences and on the Render tab, enable 'Separate Process'.  That's it :)

You might also be able to render it in parts. Like an arm, then a leg. Just to see if it will work.

So did this fix work with Poser 7 as well?

I am having the same problem - a big V of hair coming up from the floor below the figure. I have set all the Verts to 6 and changed the density down from the huge numbers to 10. Everything looks good but this damn V starting up from between his feet! It goes up past his head! What in the world is that?

Well, I finally got the hair to work. Of course, it took me upgrading to Windows 7 64bit and using 6 gigs of memory.

Still haven't used it yet in a render. :P

Just as a FYI, the spike of hair coming from the ground seems to be centered on the center of the GROUND plane, not the figure's Center Of Mass. I can move the wolf around but the spikes still come from the same place, although they follow him; if I move him way off axis the spikes of fur pierce him at a very acute angle and start as far away as the center of the Ground plane is. Why in the world would the center of the Ground plane grow hair? Real bummer, as the character is so much nicer when hairy...too bad the author hasn't addressed this.

I am running Windows 7 too, Poser 8, and I have 6 gigs of memory. The processor isn't top of the line (E5600, IIRC), but surely this is enough to do this. I don't believe it is a failure due to lack of horsepower as it will render the whole thing - it just adds that stupid hair plant to the center of the stage and it grows towards the figure no matter where you put it.

no word pad here on a mac and had same problem. went to daz and wrote for tech help and asked they fix the damn script to work for non-tech saavy dead heads like me. we paid money for this and whatever issues it has should be addressed by them. so..........good to know others have had the same problem. BTw working in 64bit, i7 box with 8 gigs of ram and still a hassle for some stuff. :(
