Subject: Animation Programs No Longer Animating

casamerica ( ) posted Mon, 25 June 2001 at 11:22 AM · edited Tue, 28 January 2025 at 2:48 AM

Ironbear has suggested I ask here as others may have experienced the same perplexing problem I have just encountered. I apologize for the crosspost, but I am truly stumped and desperate. The problem I have is that none of my animation related programs will render animations any longer. Poser, Bryce, Illusion, Vue, Animation Shop, etc. all give similar error messages - "Problem Creating AVI." Now, all my animations and movies will play just fine. I just cannot create any new ones in my software packages. I have racked my brain trying to figure out what happened and/or what I have to do to correct this. I am running Win98. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated as I am competely and utterly stumped. I would be forever thankful for a solution short of backing up 30-40 gig of material and reformating. Take care and Godspeed.

What codec are you using to make avi's? Is it the same as the avi's that your able to view? My first thought would be that you might have a bad codec. I would try getting the lastest Ms player and if that don't work try removing your codec's and installing new ones. At least the one you use as default.

don't know much 'bout animations but sounds like some file was prob corrupted on the way, something related to avi or so.Sorry, win life..... Well reinstall win and it all should go fine... If I'm corrected you won't need to reinstall the progs, unless you format your hard drive.... Perhaps this will correct the missing dll, since your files r still playing. thanks
