Subject: Convert pose between figures?

Gangreedo ( ) posted Sat, 28 November 2009 at 7:49 AM · edited Wed, 20 November 2024 at 12:28 AM

 Hello!

I was curious if there's a way to convert a still pose from M3 to M4, or vice-versa. I plan to eventually make and sell a pose pack, and I don't want to limit people to either figure.

I was hoping there was a tool to one-click accomplish this but I couldn't find one.  If there is no one click solution.. what would be the best figure to create the original pose on in order to apply it to the other one and adjust it to match?

Thank you!!!!

Puppet Master can do this but since Poser 7 it was incorporated into the program. Which version of Poser are you using?

The option is switched on/off in Edit > General Preferences > Library > Apply Universal poses.

Although Universal Poses can solve many posing issues, it still has an occassional glitch.  Feet can get twisted (evern with IK off!)  At best, this is correctable by applying limits.  Consider Puppet Master as the best alternative.  Follow the script instructions; user friendly.

 Quick replies!

I'm using Poser Pro... and it seems that works for the most part.. though it's off a bit on the arms. The feet do behave weirdly yea.

Do I still need a script? Or would it do exactly what "Use Universal Poses" does?

Thanks!

The Universal Poses attempts to apply poses across all models regardless of vendor, and you will encounter some bizarre distortions every so often.  If you really need to duplicate the pose exactly, I would recommend Puppet Master.  I use both methods, universal for quick posing within the scene and Puppet Master if I absolutely going to save the pose to my library for reuse.  This works great with partial pose creation where you build your pose using one model and afterwards convert it to another.

So.. the Universal Poses is actually PuppetMaster implemented in Poser???! Do I understand that correctly?

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.

Does Puppet Master work for M4? I don't see him listed here:

Thanks!

I have not seen an update for M4 but I did read somewhere that he does respond very well like V4.
