Subject: A possible bug, Poser 8 SR2

Has anyone noticed that when you first load a scene, you can click on a body part to select it normally, but after working for a while, when you click on a part, it will jump to a new position?

I know about Auto Balance and the effect it has on a pose. My issue is different. Auto Balance causes a wide, distributive reaction to restore balance when a limb of a figure is moved. In this case, when the limb is selected, it will jerk to a new position, leaving the figure unbalanced.

The way around this problem (aside from closing Poser and reloading the scene) is to undo the movement and rely on the hierarchy editor to select the parts.

Since I generally use the dials to pose, I wasn't aware of a problem that accompanies this issue I'm sometimes having with selection. The translate tool will cease to function properly. If you attempt to move a limb with the translate tool, it will go in a wrong direction. If you try to move a prop with the translate tool, it will fly out of the scene.

I too run into this, I am pretty sure for me it is my tablet and mouse combo.

In my situation I am opposite, in that when I first open the scene, if I touch anything in the view port directly the object jumps, changes location etc... only after about 10 minutes am I able to actually manipulate via the window directly.

I have updated my drivers and all that jazz, but it continues to happen. In P7 it took until SR3 to finally settle in and function correctly.

I still resort to doing all my basic setup in P7 then going to P8 for final work.

Running on a Mac BTW.

I have the same problem. Fine at first then the figure jumps to the left and the mouse movement does nothing. I guess that's what dials are for. I can't even select a body part to move this way as it jumps immediatly.

When I deactivated tablet mode in General Preferences, the pose tools and selection were back to normal. I had activated the tablet mode previously to work on a morph and had forgotten that it remained selected in the preferences.
