This does sound like great fun and one everyone can do.  You don't have to have snow to make this one work. :-)

Great idea Bruce! I get so jealous when you all talk about snow and reflecting Christmas lights...
I'll have to settle for images of a sweaty Santa in a thong and BBQ's next to the pool!!!
One day - when I'm all grown up - I will also experience a cold and white Christmas!!!

Great animation. I did something similar but the quality horibble so I have to skip it.

looking up dead center of the Emporium Dome with the larger than life wreath with cascading lights coming down. Brief HIstory: The Emporium Building was called “The Grandest Mercantile Building in the World.” Featuring a bandstand and restaurant under the dome, it was a popular destination for shopping, concerts, dancing, and dinner. From 1886 to 1906, the building was also the home of the California Supreme Court. It is thought the court was located at what later became the Emporium men’s shoe department. The building and dome survived the 1906 Earthquake, but were destroyed in the subsequent firestorm downtown. The 500,000-pound dome was lifted to a perch by a custom hydraulic system. It sat on a supporting tower for almost a year while the new structure was built underneath it.

I have passed this building many times but since parking is an occupation and not a convenience, I have passed it and not stopped. I've always wanted to go inside. Wow, this is an awesome view with holiday lights on top of that!

Have you ever gone over older photos only to discover an overlooked gem or a photo which a simple edit will make much more than you thought the first time around?

This photo was taken while driving around in a very pleasant way seeing the lights in our small town.  I hadn't noticed...Santa was just fading away after adding a special touch to someone's decorations.   I bet they never knew he had visited but may have wondered why the lights made more smiles than before.

I have believed a long time.....

from my office building's lobby  - more festive than I can achieve at home. LOL The harsh lighting can be difficult to work with but they also have a period of time each day they dim the lights to conserve electricity - we are a "green" building...

Santa above has been in touch with me for years.  He spends most all of the season leading up to the "dash away all" and the reindeer flight in helping other folks feel better.  Many of these folks are kids in hospitals. Santa always visits, gives them a stuffed 'love bear" to hold and is on his way to see old folks who can't get out any more.  He doesn't mind his face being on Renderosity at all...he wants someone to smile because of it.

I had to get back here and say these few words about the Santa I know quite well.  Yes, it is Christmas night and Christmas morning surprises but for Santa it is much more than that one day.

Yes, he is short, he is round, his beard is his beard and he does chuckle, too., shaking like a bowl full of jelly.  :  )

MrsLubner ( ) posted Wed, 09 December 2009 at 9:26 PM

My daddy introduced me to Santa when I was 3. He had known Santa since he was a young boy and they were very close friends throughout the years.

My little dog and I helped Santa one year dig his sleigh out of a snow bank so he could deliver his bag of toys.  My children always knew they could pass messages through me to Santa and there were a couple of times when I asked Santa to call or write to them to let them know he was always watching-  so be good.

I introduced my kids to Santa when they were about 8 and now that they have children, they also are introducing them to Santa as they get old enough...and they have heard many times how I helped Santa with his sleigh back in 1956.

Santa always asks us what we would like to send to a child in need each year. Each year he delivers  a gift from each of us to a child who needs a smile ... Knowing Santa just makes you want to give to others as he always has...
