All I need to know for now is whether that memory leak/out-of-memory issue has been resolved--otherwise, I won't bother installing 6.3. Does anyone know? Or is it scheduled to be fixed in Bryce 7?

Or perhaps CRYCE,,, :)  then eventually CRYCE 2

if they call it cryce they might as well add cry-engine for the real time previews! :-D

Quote - I see that the bug fixes did not include the broken materials animation.

sigh

That is too bad.  That was a real nice feature.        And it is precisely why I keep 5.5 installed on my machine.

They kept an interesting feature. If you haven't noticed this before... When you hold down the ALT and CTRL keys together and place the mouse cursor on the handle (to re-size a single primitive or group), a little black handle changes to a black box with what looks like the number 1. Does anybody have a clue as to what that is for? Or is that just an "Easter Egg" or being that this is the season, "Xmas Egg"?

  • Not heard of that one. I'll have to take a look.

I think it needs another key after Ctrl/Alt, Fran.
Here is a link to short keys for Bryce.

Hold down control and position your cursor over the corner of a cube and it changes to a new icon...Spin the cube now...

Try it on all of the sides....

But that is only Ctrl, right?
It's not Ctrl/Alt?

Way easier to animate a spinning object then using the Edit controls...

Also would be nice to be able to use hotkeys to manipulate the object in the working window instead of in the edit panel...

peedy ( ) posted Thu, 24 December 2009 at 8:45 AM

I wouldn't know.
I am not into animation, so I take your word for it. :-)

ThunderStone ( ) posted Thu, 24 December 2009 at 7:55 PM

No it's not just CTRL... but CTRL and ALT... I know about the CTRL and drag... it's to turn the object on its axis i.e. spin... but if you do the CTRL along with ALT, it will change to the loneliest number. If you do that and drag the mouse at the same time, it's a very interesting effect.
