Just figured I would ask here  as well as Daz because I am looking for a fairly quick answer to this problem.

I am having trouble with M4 his fucking eyes won't close. I have tried everything I can think of to make the morph work. I deleted M4 from my HD downloaded the latest version of him and his morphs. Then loaded him up in the Poser 7 runtime. and after everything was installed I did use the initialize  thingamajig. Then thinking I  had fixed the problem I loaded up poser and then loaded M4 and tried to move his eyes.

Nothing.

Loaded all the morphs including the base morphs

Nothing.

So now I am at a loss what to do to get these damned morphs to work. I know others have had problems with this but I cant find any threads that give solid solutions that work.

I need these morphs to work and they don't. I am starting to get really pissed. I need some sleep so hopefully I have given enough information  that someone knows what is going on and how I can fix this. Thanks for any and all answers whether they work or not.

Sorry. I don't have a solution; but a question...

I  presume all other morphs work?

With mines, the Open/Close works backwards, for some strange reason.  They close when they open, and Open when they Close...  weird.

Wish I can help.

Most of em work but the open close for the eyes and at least the jaw corner width morph don't I know there are several more that done but I cant remember which at the moment.

May be a stupid question but does M4 come with an initialize script in the same way as V4?  If so, you may need to run that, if you haven't already done so.

Yeah already did that.

Here's a ridiculous idea... Feel free not to try it. I'm using P7 but my Daz characters are actually in an old P6 runtime...

Uninstall M4 and morphs... Create a folder called something else... say DAZ... and create a folder in it called Runtime... Install M4 and morphs into that Runtime folder and reinitialize... In P7, add the new Runtime folder.

Yeah just tried that by putting it in my old Poser 6 runtime and no dice, morphs still don't work.

I still don't have a solution for this any ideas would be appreciated.

I know you said you tried this, but your symptom is very often caused by not running the "Update M4" script.  Depending on what OS you have, it may be that the executable that the script invokes doesn't actually have permission to edit the files and is failing without giving an error.  If I were you I'd get on the phone to DAZ and get some help tomorrow morning.

I am starting to think Ill have to because I just removed M4 and everything that was not clothing including Hiro and Enhanced. turned off my virus scanner and then reinstalled it all and the eyes still don't close. this is  really starting to piss me off.

readScript ":Runtime:libraries:!DAZ:Michael 4:M4headGrps.pz2"
readScript ":Runtime:libraries:!DAZ:Michael 4:M4headChnnls.pz2"

These two readscripts load the eyes open/close morphs . Check they all exist.

Well I called DAZ and they said to delete cookies and temp files and try again.

Mark those files were there.

So am I but they said that cookies and temp internet files could influence the thing to download the same old original borked file (I have no clue how)

So now I am waiting on my hard drive to finish up with its damned disc cleanup function because I started it three hours ago and it is still not done. This is a crock because I know that the drive is 320 gigs but hours for a disc cleanup command?

because of this I now have to wait till tomorrow to call them back if the shit doesn't work.

From long experience doing telephone technical support, that was probably exactly what the goal was. ;)
