THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Bewildered By Bryce

I got a software update recently for Bryce 6.3, which I downloaded, but I'm not sure if I want to install it on my new computer.  In the past, frankly, I've been bewildered by Bryce.  I've worked with a lot of different 3D applications; but I've never found one that was so unintuitive.  I have Vue, but since I'm not running a 64 bit OS it simply cannot run efficeintly on my desktop computer.   I think, for the most part, that Bryce does not have the humongous ram hunger that Vue does (I have 4 gigs of DDR 3 memory--which on a 32 bit OS can only access a max of 2 and then not so efficeintly.

If I try Bryce again I want to get some Bryce training.  Does anyone know of any good stuff that will teach me the basics in plain English?

here.. ask away and we'll help..with diagrams too..and hilarious comments and step by step instructions. nothing too hard or too easy for us. nor too silly or too serious..

so install it and bryce away..

bunch of tutorial sites.. one that comes to mind immediately is

http://brycetech.daz3d.com/
http://www.bsmooth.de/BSolutions/#B5RenderOp

everyone else will post up other sites to go thru..and get susan ktichen's bryce book if you can.
One way I worked out was to keep trying everything.. and if i get stuck.. ask away out here.. works wonders..

know what you mean about the OS and 32 bits. I have the same probs as you..4 gigs ram 32 bit..etc. Switching to a 64 bit windows 7 OS in a week or two.

cheers and happy brycing..

Non intuitive?Bryce?Sorry it's the like of Poser,Carrara and Cinema 3D that are unintuitive in my opinion.

I'd made a scene and textured it and rendered it withing 5 minutes of playing with the program. I've never been able to do that with any other program.

I also managed to print out and read the Bryce 5 Manual with great success and all those really helpful tutorials provided by my fellow Brycers all over the internet have more than compensated for the extreme lack of help or effort  for other programs that have obliged me to buy manuals because the manuals provided have been so confusing and even non existent.

Cudos, I04.  I just scanned through your site and this is an awesome tutorial for the beginners.  It should have the new converts creating scenes in no time.

Your work is appreciated.
