How do I hide the big red magnet and it's yellow attachment thingy?

I've used a magnet to bend a shape but now I want the thing hidden. I've tried turning visible off, but then when I turn the yellow part invisible it makes the red magnet visible again.

so annoying lol

I've had issues with this too.

Even if you set the parts of the magnet to not be visible, once you select the prop or body part that has that magnet attatched to it the magnet becomes visible again.

I can see why it is designed to do this but its still annoying.

One work-around I have found is to select the magnet base (not the magnet itself) and shrink its size down to a less obtrusive percentage. This should not effect the morph you are trying to create.

visible or not, the magnet should not show up in renders.

hope this helps.

Actually there is a very simple way to hide the magnet(s): In the menu choose Display|Deformers|Hide All

What I always do is to change the display mode of the magnet and magnet base to Outline. This way they do not hide anything and you can still work with them

Magnets are for creating morphs, after applying your magnets go to "Objects-Spawn Morph Target" now you can delete your magnets and use the morph in the Properties Panel !

Best answer.

You don't want to spawn a morph unless your sure it is how you want it. So the outline setting works best.

Also changing the magnet zone to wire frame when working with it, makes it easier to see what it's doing.

Seconded to Tashar...I always set the magnet zone to wireframe before trying to position it.
