Subject: My latest upload never appeared in my gallery.

EBSPhotographic ( ) posted Thu, 24 December 2009 at 7:39 AM · edited Fri, 22 November 2024 at 10:16 AM

Hello All,

I didn't see a thread for site problems/issues so this forum seemed like a good enough place to start.

I uploaded an image last night (I'm a non-paying member so I only get 1 per day) and completed all the steps and I saw the preview of the image after doing all the upload stuff.  The image never showed up in my gallery and I'm being told I used my upload for the day but nothing is there.

Has this happened to anyone before?  Is my picture lost in cyber space?  Can someone (admin) fix it so I can re-upload the image?

Thank you to al for your time.

Happy Holidays.

All members are allowed to upload one picture per day.
If you had not been 24 hours since your last load the server can tell you that you can not upload.

Thank you for the reply.

I'm aware of the 1 upload per day.  When I clicked upload it let me go through all the steps and as I mentioned it did post a preview of the image that I uploaded but when I returned to my gallery page the image wasn't there.  Figuring I must have done something wrong I tried uploading the same image again only to get the "you had you're upload for the day" message.  So really I didn't get to upload anything but yet it's telling me I did.

I've been posting here for over 5 years and to my knowledge there's never been a lag in uploads, it's usually instantly there.  It's not a big deal really, just was wondering if the problem was something I did or a site issue.

I'll try again tonight after the 24 hours has past

Thanks again,
Eric

The most likely thing is that you forgot to save the image when you were done previewing.

The image in limbo will get cleaned up automatically by a process that runs in the early hours of the morning, and AFAIK, this is the staff don't have any way to sort it out before that happens.

That's just it, I never hit the preview button; I just went straight to upload.  Really it's not a big deal, I was just wondering if the site had any issues (it happens).

I'll try again later on.

Thank you for the reply, your time is appreciated.

We're not having any issues reported at present with the galleries..not sure what happened if you didn't go to preview after you uploaded. Try and wait it out till 2 AM Rendo server time {CST} and try the upload again.

If it still doesn't work, send me an email {jumpstartme2@renderosity.com} and I'll try and figure out what the dealio is :)

Thanks!

Eric.... there is an image in your gallery dated 23rd, is this not it?

EBSPhotographic ( ) posted Thu, 24 December 2009 at 2:09 PM

No, it was a different picture; I believe it was about 3am according to the site clock up top so it would have been for the 24th.  Really, it's no big deal; more then likely I probably messed up somehow....  It was late and I'd been working all night:)...

Just thought it odd is all and (this site is pretty rock solid) was wondering if anyone else had any problems similar.

Thank you again for the replies, much appreciated.

Happy Holidays to all!!!

Eric
