I'm hoping someone can help me with a couple questions. I just got poser today & figure if I ask my questions on here, it will save me time so I dont have to search any more. 1. How do you make the pics more realistic? 2. Do the stuff in the Free Stuff section that say Vicky all over it, do they work with other characters? 3. Can you use Adobe photoshop to edit the textures & props, or does it have to be a 3D app, like 3d Studio max or maya Thank you

  1. Use realistic textures and bumps, and lighting. 2. They will work, but the work involved in tweaking is long and difficult in most cases because Vicky is of different geommetries, and has different sizing etc. 3. Any 2D app like photoshop, or psp, or photoimpact, etc...can edit the textures...the props and models themselves can be edited using 3d apps. hope that helps :)

  1. Read what Sacred Rose said above, but also make sure that the option "Anti-Alias" is checked in the Render Options dialog. This means a higher quality rendering (allthough more time consuming). My own experience is that lighting makes a lot of difference, the default lighting in Poser is terrible. Delete the three default lights and create new ones, two spotlights (at least) arranged to suite the scene you are rendering. Read Craig Burton's excellent tutorial on lighting: http://www.awakemm.com/poserarcana/tutorials/lighting.html 2. Victoria uses separate texture maps for head and body, so textures made for Victoria is hard to use on the standard Poser figures. Victoria poses will work after some tweaking. Hair props can be adjusted to work with other figures, but this is a cumbersome process, at least according to my experience. I would strongly recommend you to buy Victoria 2.0 though, it is a wonderful model to work with.

Definitely get Vicki and Mike, after you've learned your way around Poser. Get the feel of the program and how things work, then make the investment. It's well worth it. You get much more realistic renders with them. The stock Poser 4 male and female (sometimes called Posette and Dork) characters are pretty plastic, more like mannequins, whereas Mike and Vicki are so much more diverse and lifelike. Melanie
