Subject: Poser 8 items in scene not visible in the hierarchy

Stelwire ( ) posted Sun, 27 December 2009 at 9:28 AM · edited Thu, 14 November 2024 at 2:19 AM

I have P8 with SR2 installed and have issues where a figure I load into the scene disappears from the hierarchy.

It is still visible in the scene itself and I can select and manipulate it.

I had this happen yesterday twice in a fairly basic scene (one of Bazze's airplanes) and an M4.

Is there a fix to refresh the hierarchy to show all the content in the scene? Or is this a bug?

Thanks

Sounds like a bug.

Sometimes a body part won't show properly because its name in
the OBJ file disagrees with the name in the CR2 ... in that case
the bug is in the figure, not in Poser.  But I've never seen a complete
figure missing from the hierarchy.

Be aware of parenting - this causes items to be re-arranged within the tree. You may have a figure parented to something else (unknowingly) and it's there but not where you think it is. Opening the right branch may reveal it.

In fact, the easiest way to change an object or figure's parent is to drag it in the hierarchy display. Some people don't notice drag and drop operations and are not aware that they have changed things by essentially random clicking.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
