hi everyone, i am going to buy this computer - www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/store/pcw_page.jsp
i would just like to know if it will produce better results in rendering, than my dual core, 2 gb ram,  2006 model pc with radeon graphics card? i look forward to your comments....

I am going to say no to this one.

It will be faster to render, and you may get better memory use from the 64 bit OS , which may allow higher resolution renders with bigger texture maps. If Poser is currently crashing on loading textures now it may improve, otherwise you will get same quality.

Since it will be a whole lot faster, you may be able to use higher render settings or more render features and get better results that way. eg if you can't use IDL right now because of slow rendering, you may be able to use it with the new machine and get more realistic lighting that way.

If you have the memory slot available you may benefir from ading another 1gb of memory to your existing system. That will allow better memory use and give you a slight speed increase.

Depends on what you have now.  Desktops are pretty easy to upgrade; laptops not so much.
Memory, hard drives and peripherals can be put in, provided there's space for them, on desktops

Laptops - mainly the only upgrades you can do are memory; sometimes the Hard drive, and a few cards can be added.

BTW - isn't that Shatner from the Twilight Zone as your avatar?

I wish I'd said that.. The Staircase Wit
