This is an old package and it might not have the necessary bump/displacement mappings to enhance the texture.  There are several dynamic hair products created by  Tiny @ Content Paradise which gives furred animals a realistic look.  I haven't seen one developed for wolves just yet.

The millenium dog has a wolf morph and I think it has a furry thing from Tiny at Content Paradise ... Furred Mutts is the name I think.

The MilDog wolf morph looks more like a german shepard.  The old P4 wolf looks more like a wolf, but is a low resolution figure by today's standards.

Honestly the  Mildog  morph for wolf  would  look better if someone could do a prop hair for the  cheekfur and ruff like they  did the MilBigCat lion.

Maybe one of these threads will help you?  They are found in the thread "Material Room Bookmarks" which is stuck at the top of the forum
