Hm. Judging by the shape of the geometry, the brows can't be much too high. But I think they're definitely too far outward. Is it the texture, though, or your mapping?

Would it be possible to get a non-eyebrow texture if the eyebrow is indeed part of the texture? And also get an eyebrow material like V4.2?
Reason: a technique combining displacement map and bumpmap for the eyebrow is currently in development that might prove quite a breakthrough for that part of the anatomy.

I guess I could show you what I've done for V4.2 so far: that might build a bit of enthusiasm for the idea?

@RobynsVeil...all my Mil characters and my Antonia textures have both, eyebrow and no eyebrow maps. Most people prefer it that way. :)

@odf: Here is the side by comparisions, both, full body and close-up.

This is where I get confused, really, about the entire poser universe.

Aren't there 8,000,000 belly ring props, cr2s, objects, displacement maps, etc in your runtime already?  Aren't they all fantastic?  Can't they just be Y-transed into position, and maybe just a touch of Z???  Maybe a 1/2 second of scale adjustment?

I understand we need new clothes, but this Jewelry is very, very, VERY versatile...I'm still using Jewelry from V2 on V4.

At the very least, you've got primitives from Poser 1 for crying out loud that can be turned into basic shiny metals and placed on the belly button.

No, only 2, and one of those is a default clothing prop for P5 Judy.  Yes, they can work on all figures, but, -One can NEVER have too many Belly Rings!!!

Well, I'm making this jewelry strickly for Antonia. There's nothing to keep anyone from adapting it to any other figure they like, but I'm not gonna do it...lol. These are Toni's doo-dads ;o).

I realize jewelry props are rather easy to manipulate, but since I'm a beginning modeler, I'm not to the point of clothes yet and I'd like to contribute something, so it's jewelry until I learn something new ;o). I think it'll be rather nice to have some jewelry that's strickly released with her and for her.

Jewelry is nicely done no matter who it will eventually be used on. Thanks!
There is a big difference between using primitives and well designed original jewelry...no matter what part of the body it will be used on, it always look better especially if you try and create "realistic" renders.
This is the first time in all this incredibly Loooooong thread/Journey of the "Making of Antonia" , that I have noticed her hands. The finger joints sure look big in this render....like she has rheumatism or arthritis or something. Am I seeing it wrong...perhaps the lighting is giving that effect?  :(

You're not seeing it wrong. I thought the exact same thing ;o). Rheumatoid Arthritis...lol.

I'm not busting on Antonia. I'm sure there are still things left to fine-tune and tweak that no one's gotten to yet :o). I don't worry about it much...yet. ;o)

Well, I guess I'll have to take a closer look at those hands, then. I did some work on the wrist and ankles recently, which will be part of the next release, so I guess it's only logical to do fingers and toes next.

Hi  odf and everyone :)

How's our favorite girl coming along?  Is everyone still recovering from  the New Year?

With Phantom3D getting closer to finishing Brad,  we'll have a couple to be reckoned with.  Love to hear some progress update on the newest release of Antonia.

Cheers

I just came across this thread.  With no doubt, Antonia is the best non-commercial female Poser character I ever seen.  I wish I could contribute something to Antonia.  How can I start?

Diogenes ( ) posted Sun, 17 January 2010 at 2:54 PM

Hi Amy,

There is usually someone here, don't know where they've all gone too. :)

But as I understand it, all you need to do to get started is to download the latest version of Antonia and make whatever your heart desires. odf will send you a link to upload to the developers site. Though I think soon there will be a public upload space.

Anyway as you likely know the link for the latest Antonia is in odf's signature.

Welcome, have fun.
Mike.

Hi, I'm still alive. Immigrations misplaced my visa application, which gave me a bit of a worry. But then they found it, which means I'm legal again, and due to the wonders of backdating never was illegal.

Anyway, I'm slowly working towards the next Antonia release. New JCMs for the collars and wrists, and some JP improvements for the ankles have been merged in... :D

It's downright inconvenient when RL interferes with important things, especially if it involves gov departments. Glad to hear it's all squared away for you odf :)
Even so Antonia has provided some no-doubt welcome distraction it seems. Great!

OMG...
Immigrations misplaced my visa application

reminds me a bit on the guy at tax office who told Leo "Sorry, to me it looks as if you are not existing..." when he finally wanted his annual adjustment of income tax (after waiting for it almost four years). I'm glad they found your visa application - and as someone who worked at the governemnt (back then in stoneage) I think (again) that such things should not happen as we are not allowed to loose any kind of documents as well. So: No "human factor" allowed for citizens means no human factor allowed on the other side as well.

I'm not always right, but my mistakes are more interesting!

And I am not strange, I am Limited Edition!
