This is my Poser version of Jane Eyre.  She needs clothes.  The figure is my remapped P5JudyV3.  Can I adapt V3 dynamic clothes to this figure?  Is there a tut on cross dressing dynamic clothes between figures? dph

It should be fairly easy to convert v3 dynamic clothes to work with this figure, I would try and scale the clothing to be as close a fit as possible first.

Poser Fashion would have some stuff, though it's offline. If you still have the original URL, you could find it on the Wayback Machine.

Dave,
What is the base figure you are using? V3, P5Judy?
If your base figure is still named v3Milwoman, I know that name is not right but don't recollect the correct one off the top of my head, you should be able to convert clothes using WW or Xdresser.
Holds true for P5Judy. If you have morphed the body I belive WW can put the morphs into the new clothing or use MorphClothed to do it.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

dphoadley ( ) posted Tue, 02 February 2010 at 1:58 PM

Dear nickedshield;
The base figure I'm using is a remap I did of the P5 Judy figure, who's object file I renamed: P5NudeWomanV3.obj
Judy's standard default name is P5NudeWoman.obj
I have Cross Dresser, but have never used it.  Where can I find a tut on how to proceed.

I don't think I've seen a tut but the app is pretty uch straight forward. before you start make sure you have the P5Judy license.
Load the clothing, top window
Select what figure it was made fore,  called From. It will have a drop down list
Quality...High
Convert To, Select the figure from the drop down liat

Options
For a skirt, check the box. Note it will want to add body handled for you, Sometimes it's OK, sometimes not. Play with that option and see what works best for you.
If the clothes have morphs there is an option to transfere them.

I have read that people have used this option to transfer figure morphs to clothes and other figures. I haven't tried so don't knoe how well it works.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

momodot ( ) posted Tue, 02 February 2010 at 3:19 PM

Nice face. There was a site with nice Judy period dresses but I can't remember the details... was it chimera3D or something like that?

shuy ( ) posted Tue, 02 February 2010 at 4:31 PM

Lots of clothes for Judy I've seen on www.poserfashion.net but site is not avaliable.

I do not know cross dresser but if you have licence it must be easy as WW and clothes converter are.

If you have not licence look here:
http://www.renderosity.com/mod/tutorial/index.php?tutorial_id=2154&page=4
Using dynamic clothes better use magnets on Judy then on clothes.

momodot ( ) posted Tue, 02 February 2010 at 6:56 PM

Yeah, it was poserfashion.net I was remembering. Bummer that it is gone if it is.

Try the various links here, it's the WayBack Archive site, and more than a few of Serge Marcks clothes files are still retrievable. This is one of his retrieved dresses for V3.   It's conforming rather than dynamic, and curiously enough it conformed fairly well to my Judy figure with just a wee bit of tweaking.  It's a nice period dress, but more suited for a *Gone With the Wind* setting, rather than *Jane Eyre*. dph

What do you think about this one?

If you like it I can make skirt more poly for better drapes. With scarf on the arms can looks similar to dress shown in the movie

dphoadley ( ) posted Wed, 03 February 2010 at 3:24 PM

file_447624.jpg

That looks very nice!  Scarf on the arms like in the 2006 four part BBC Series you mean, the one with Ruth Wilson and Toby Stephens? I've also scaled the figure down a bit, because according to the book, Jane was slight of stature, owing to the starvation regimen at Lowood School under Brocklehurst.  So maybe you should send me an email to dphoadley2@yahoo.com and I'll send you a Pz3 of the figure file. Below you can see what I've accomplished with Cross Dresser and some of the P4 stock clothes.  As you can see, there is noticable displacement under the arms whenever she lowers them.  I tried using the V3 MFD, crossed Dressed for Judy, but the under arm distortion was even worse than with the P4 clothes. The Bonnet is from Gerald Day.

drifterlee ( ) posted Wed, 03 February 2010 at 3:27 PM

How did you get rid of geraldday's hair attached to the bonnet?

dphoadley ( ) posted Wed, 03 February 2010 at 3:32 PM

Made it invisible in the MAT room.  I might export it as an object, and then delete the hair material in UV Mapper Pro.  That will be an even more permanent solution.

I think that conforming dresses are useless if you use Poser.
I like MFD as a obj donor for dynamic clothing ;)

E-mail sent.

Dress was made according this pict.

Why I prefer dynamic clothes Mesh made within 2-3 hours in Wings, works better then MFD which was modeled and rigged by DAZ crew.

Can be added to freestuff if you make UV maps ;)
I think that Judy is character who use only her default (casual) clothes because she she spent 99% of time in library. Don is only man who can see her in theirs folder, then she needn't evening dress.

If you need more clothes please let me know. I have some problem with UV mapping (roadkill works extremely slow) but I can prepare any mesh quite fast - especially dynamic clothes ;)

drifterlee ( ) posted Thu, 04 February 2010 at 3:37 PM

The dress turned out great!

dphoadley ( ) posted Thu, 04 February 2010 at 4:01 PM

Have started to remap it now.  Is there any particular dress pattern that I should follow so as to take advantage of any large reservoir of ready made available textures?

MFD is most popular I think.
Since I've discovered http://www.castleposer.co.uk/ I think that textures are not necessery, except human bodies. Especially if we can use "search" => Bagginsbill ;)

The MFD, since it's already be mapped for textures, and that textures are in abundance for it.

David,She's lovely!!

Of course, after having seeing her naked, the white dress was a bit of a surprise, but I guess she's the look-but-don't-touch type...

Well, in the book, she did allow Rochester to 'Touch', but ONLY after the wedding at the end of the book. -But then she allowed him to touch her a lot!!!
