This looks like it will be fun!  Here is what helanker chose:

Well, I have thought and thought, between all the season happenings, but had no idea, so  I got help from our good friend Koosie. What about  a CHANGE. This simple word Change, could really hold alot of stuff, couldnt it? New year change. Weather change..... "CHANGE"  How about that?

I guess you can even look in your pocket for inspiration! :)

The Challenge starts now and will go on until the end of January.  I will give you a few days warning.   Post your works in this thread under this post.  Ask questions here as well.

You may enter an existing work if you like, but we would prefer to see a new work created for this challenge... it IS a challenge after all, lol!  You may enter more than one work, but remember that in the voting, each entry will be judged separately, so it would be wonderful if you could name each of your entries.

Show us your inspiration!!!

Title: End Move

http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1997337

Yes, a change has taken place. Where dragons once fought for everything, they have become more civilized and now play a game or two of chess to determine the winner.

A late afternoon game could determine the outcome.  The ice dragon is pondering if he should take the 'rook' with his knight, and end up losing it to the gold knight. Still a rook is worth more then a knight in most cases. Could this tip the game in his favor?

The chess was a freebie from Fisty at DAZ, and the pieces really move!

We always been a form of vehicular population, whether we were carried or pushed. So changes in our mode of transportation is as follows: carriage, tricycle, bicycle, car, then either, feet,  walker, cane, or wheelchair.... then the very last one, pallbearers... Icks!. Nevertheless, this is my take on changes in transportation, Changes in Transportation

it seems people don't post entries right a way.  Hopefully, this just an edd and flow.

Hello. I found you all again. What a relief. I visited your forum a couple of days ago and fancied the challenge presented by the brief; change. Nice choice....so, assuming I would find you easily again I proceeded to produce my interpretation of "change." Did I feel a fool when after more than an hour I had not found my way back. Anyway, I have and as soon as I work out how to post my image, I will.

The changes undertaken by a worm or catipilar through their incubation period, in the cacoon that they them selves weave, to a larva which in turn transforms into either a beautiful butterfly or an amazing moth, is amazing; however, these amazing creatures have a habitual craze to follow bright lights, hence the title to my image; "Some things change and somethings never will."

Like a moth to a flame.

Hope you've all got good monitors. This image is dark and best viewed in a dark environment.

Nice play on words there Koos'. "Drip" as in one who can't take it, a weakling...and your image representing the final straw of some poor lost soul. Would be a relief if this ultimate act would come to an end. Would be a relief if all the wierd occurances that drive people to this untimely end would resolve themselves aswell.

O...K....    Her goes,  no image,  just a few words very close to My heart.

I am taking You all back to Valentines Day.  No not the Massacre,  just back up to 1960.   50 years ago at the age of 14 I needed surgery on My heart.  This involved stopping My heart and using a Heart-Lung Machine to provide oxygenated blood while the heart was stopped.  This machine was to My eyes  Huge..  About the size of a room.   35 pints of blood was needed to prime the machine.

This meant there were 35 people out there somewhere who gave of themselves in order  to keep this fantastic machine operating and keeping Me alive.

It was an 8 hour operation and I was several weeks flat on My back before receiving any kind of therapy.  Obviously,  al went well,  because I am writing this now.

Let Me bring You all forward to three days before Valentines Day 2007.  At this time I am 62 Years old and the valve in My Heart is defective.  So here We go again,  more heart surgery.   The machine they use this time is the size of a small shopping trolley and only needs about 5 pints of synthetic blood.  (They had Donor Blood available just in case.)

This operation lasted under 2 hours and I was up and walking the following day.  By valentines Day I was at home with a Nurse visiting twice a day..

Times change.  We change.  Technology is changing faster than We can fully comprehend.

I thank all these people.  Doctors Nurses ,  Technicians,  Scientists, Cleaners  they know who they are  every single day.  The ONE thing I see that never changes is Peoples Love for one another..

Noel, you're one blessed man. That is one thing that we can all be thankful for that does not change and that is God's mercy and love for us. Glad you're still with us.

Thanks Tresami. I may even find the time to submit another, if i'm lucky.

The piece by dwindt is beautiful! I love how the candle seems to practically light up my room! Koosievantutte's post is a brave one, I don't think I would have brought that tubing home, and he's made a piece of art with it! Amazing! Rerewhakaaitu's fractal is amazing! so is the rest of the stuff in the gallery!! NoelCan's story sure fits the topic of change, things sure have changed in the years from one surgery to the next. A well written story of change, and I'm so glad he's here to tell it.

I've two to post .. I've just learned how to make a line drawing from a photo using several layers and gaussian blur and black and white and negatives and layers and I've been going nuts making drawings of all my photos, LOL! So here's the first, except it seems to want to post before the stuff I've written. Oh well.

Noel: A kiwi of all people should have been aware of the droughts, in recent years, even in Melbourne. Much luck with the water situation, and with your health. Are you able to grow anything?

Yep...  I have the best weed(s)  in Melbourne,,  No seriously We (My Wife and I) are doing ok.
There is a campaign to encourage people in Melbourne to restrict water usage to 155 Litres per person per day.  We are managing quite well on an average of 110 per day..

Three cheers for three-grrr's. Nice technigue. If you enjoyed that take a look at the water color tutorial challenge at Graphics.com. Might be a nice way to assist the middle ground of your image. They use a techinque with a photocopy layer amoungst their photo layers and a few tweaks. Very nice. Looks like you'll enjoy the lesson. Try it. Follow the link.

There are terrific entries this challenge!  We have two pages this month, so be sure to look at them all.  It's time to let the voting begin!  The voting will be in this thread, after this entry.  You get to choose your 3 favorite entries, giving each of them 3, 2 or 1 points.  Remember, you are choosing an entry, not an artist.  If someone has posted more than one entry, you need to indicate which is your choice.

Your vote should look something like this:

Change - "TwoCents" - 3 points
Old - "New" - 2 points
Win - "OrLose" - 1 point

That's great, thank you everybody!

My suggestion for the next challenge:

"Interaction"  This can be interactions between people (good or bad), interaction with or between animals, and even abstract interactions between shapes and lines between colors... I'm sure people will find more variations.

(Alternatively,  we could have 'i had a dream', which is quite self explanatory)

Thanks again and I hope the March challenge is fun as well.
