Subject: Daz in Poser observations

wingnut1 ( ) posted Mon, 08 February 2010 at 6:01 PM · edited Thu, 12 December 2024 at 8:59 AM

This isn't a rant, just general observations. I started using P7 last summer and now P8. For the first time today I installed V4 and M4 into Poser because there seems to be an absolutely staggering amount of content and figures etc. for DAZ. Of course this means more things for my aging brain to learn. ;-)

I'm still enjoying learning all this in my spare hour or so after the kids have gone to bed, beats watching TV for the most part.

kyhighlander59 ( ) posted Mon, 08 February 2010 at 6:06 PM

Aye, that I will agree with. TV sucks these days. I have a dish and from what I see of BBC America you denizens of the UK have it a bit worse than we do here in the states.

If you really want to cut into your free time start messing around with 3D modelling programs. That can really blow some time.

LOL gotta run almost time for Heros. LOL

wingnut1 ( ) posted Mon, 08 February 2010 at 6:39 PM

I live in Ireland, so our TV is probably even worse than that in the UK. ;-)

I do like "Curb Your Enthusiasm" whenever it airs over on this island.

kyhighlander59 ( ) posted Mon, 08 February 2010 at 6:50 PM

you have to subscribe to a premium channel for that here. I don't like TV that much. LOL

NCIS and Smallville are about the only shows I watch. I wish I wasn't hooked on those, might get a lot more done. Naps take up a lot of my time as well these days. LOL

hborre ( ) posted Mon, 08 February 2010 at 6:55 PM

Did somebody say Smallville????

kyhighlander59 ( ) posted Mon, 08 February 2010 at 7:00 PM

LOL good show. loved the lead into Justice Society last week.

SamTherapy ( ) posted Mon, 08 February 2010 at 7:01 PM

Haven't watched Smallville for years.  I enjoyed it but I'm not too happy with the way TV shows mess around with an established continuity.  By rights, it should be set in the 1970's, given Supes' apparent age in the comics.  Even that's pushing it a bit but hey, they retcon his age every once in a while.

At least they managed to kill off Batman (in the comics) and get away with it.  Kinda.

I like Heroes, FlashForward and a British show about a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost.  It's called Being Human.  Well worth watching.  And, of course, Doctor Who.

Other than that, the little boy seems to take up most of our time.

As for DAZ stuff, I have a lot of their products - a frightening amount, really - and a whole hell of a lot of things bought from here and other places, too.

Nowadays I can't afford to buy much but when I had the means, I went a bit crazy.  Oh well, I think I have enough content now to see me to my pine box.  :)

If you are interested in Daz products, I recommend a Platinum Club membership, if you can afford it. TONS of models for $1.99 (easily a 90% discount on some of them).

LOL I was modelling a bulb of garlic last night for westcat and wasted away about 2 hours before I knew it.

Nice work there.  Bit shiny, though.  Mind you, you could be the kinda guy who wax polishes garlic bulbs, for all I know.  :)

We've got BBC on cable here in Israel, and there are a couple of programs I like, such as 'Flog It', and 'Home Invaders.'  And then there's those guys who come and do a make over of a guys back yard.

I watch as little TV as possible only a select number of programs. The amount of trash on TV, especially on CBS, is astounding!   A couple of service buddies and I watched NCIS just to see what it was couldn't stop laughing what is scary is that CBS claims that is their most watched show. It's no wonder politicians get away with so much.

You dont watch NCIS for its science skills , you watch for the shootings and explosions.

Yes I am strongly thinking about that and they have a lot of stuff there. In fact I might get the Platinum tomorrow...

It is definitely worth it. They have some killer sales. In fact, they are gearing up right now for March Madness. They also have a sale one (maybe two) times a year where member get to vote on what they want for $1.99, Last time I picked up Carrara Express and a bunch of other things I probably would never buy at full, or even half price, but for 2 bucks, yeah, I'll pick it up and let it sit on my hard drive on the off chance I might want it at some time!

Mythbusters and Pawn Stars are my favorite TV shows.  Other than that, not too much regular TV for me (I'll watch Beck and Oreilly if I need to have something on).

Actually, I don't know what Abby looks like, but if she's blond haired and blue eyed, then she's definitely NOT my type. Give me Brunets and Redheads any day of the week!!  Nothing beats warm cuddly Israelis!!  NOTHING!!!

Well I went ahead and got the Platinum 12 months membership at DAZ, and saved some money on the V4 morphs ++. More things to learn, but it is fun and I can learn at my own pace with nobody cracking a whip at me.
If they made school this enjoyable when I was a kid, by now I would be a heart surgeon or nuclear scientist speaking seven languages. ;-)

Well Abby's a brunet, so OK, (I'd forgooten who Abby was, since the series hasn't been broadcast in Israel for a while, I just remembered that Ziva was a Mossad agent), but that Ziva girl is far the prettier! (And she sure knows how to shoot a gun!)
