Subject: Has anyone tried these products?

Has anyone tried any of these.

If so I was wondering how you rate them?

Maybe a scale of 1 to 5,  5 being the best.

1: produces unreal junk, waste of money.
2: fill in the blank
3: fill in the blank
4: fill in the blank
5: very useful, produces very real looking materials, well worth the money, glad I bought it.

If a scale is not a good way for you then just tell me what you think of it.

I'm making a list of vue rock materials and clouds, atmospheres related things for when I someday might have money again. One can only hope:)
I'm just being careful as I have no money to waste. I wish to supplement the skimpy amount of mats that came with my V8C.

Here' my whole list so far. you may find it useful. I'm not doing this list on behalf of any sellers. I'm just mentioning it as a resource and as a way for me to find out if this stuff is any good or not.

Sorry about prices on the links, that messes them up.

You would need to copy and paste the links "minus the price" into your address bar to go to any of those.

Yea, you know, I think these are brill

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

I have Dave Burdicks rocks & stones/groundcover and I do like them very much.

Really though, I'm sure it's all down to personal choice and the type of scenes that each individual wants to do.

Thanks for promoting one of mine though hahhaaaaa!!!!

I do not have any of the products you posted here but I do have the second watermats pack from Gill Brooks. And I am very pleased with it, I'm planning to get the first set as well which Gill linked to above.
I can't give you a rating for the first watermats pack yet, but the second pack I would rate with a 5.

Problem with most of those materials and atmospheres, it's same material, just a modifications in coloring.
From all of them i recomend (i have it) :
Cloudscape pdf on usage plus 12 cloud layers and atmospheres for $14.90
http://www.cornucopia3d.com/purchase.php?item_id=8216

Mats and atmospheres may look good in demo render, but not realy usefull for any thing else.

Geekatplay mats, i created for users with version Vue that does not have function editor, if your version does, i recoment watch tutorials at geekatply.com and create by your self.

Also many free mats, pressets, atmospheres..etc you can find here, at renderosity.com, geekatplay.com and cornucopia3d.com Gill Brooks creatins are very nice.

If you find product you like, look for some examples that user created with it.

Hi Volter

Yes I'm trying to avoid the ones that are all made the same except for color changes.

I'm looking for stuff with complexity already built  in , looking good to begin with. Then I use that as a starting point changing a little if needed in the function editor. Seeing how they did it, by looking at it in the FE is helpful to me.

I'm watching Geek at play tutorials while on my excersize bike. While I'm stranded inside for the winter.

My favorite so far is the sliderock tutorial. I made my own mat and scene watching that. (not on the bike :)

Thanks to you all at GAP. For making those available. I bought your most recent tutorial set last week.
I also watch the free ones.
