This is very nice!

Joaq did a great job but there's no comment section. I'm thinking it might be a new character. Anybody know who she might be?

Wow!

Poser is making great strides in realism. This is partly due to the great work by the Poser development team, but also due to very expert users and content providers who push Poser to its limits. This forum enjoys the input of many of those exceptional users and content providers. Also, members of the Poser team visit here from time to time and comment. Seeing that this is almost the de facto Poser/SM forum now, SM, Poser and CP folks should be reading and commenting here every day.

I look forward to being amazed on a regular basis. Thanks for linking that render for us.

Nice. Thanks for the link. I would not have seen this since I only search for my name or VSS in the galleries, and I wasn't mentioned on this one. [ boo hoo - grin ]

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

Wow is an understatement, check out the rest of Joaq's gallery, every one of them renders is a winner. I think I need to visit the Poser gallery more often.

Looks like Poser has brought realism up a notch.

That's Vanessa V4 texture, available at Daz. Works real well with VSS, I might add.

I know that y'all figure the hair is always the weak link, but in this case at least to ME it seems not to be... so who's hair? Is that Kozaburo's freebie Bob hair?

somebody IM Joaq re: what settings he uses.  whilst poser 8 and later are capable of this level,
it's not obvious that these are poser renders. e.g. look at the hair - they usually do that wrong with
DM shadows or even no shadows IIRC.

DM shadows?  What's DM, maybe I forgot?  I don't have Poser 8, but I'm rendering in modo to get similar results.

Here is one I did www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/full.php I am mostly a Vue user but this is my very first render using Poser 8. And Yes Poser has turned up the ability to create realistic renders more than just a notch. : )

Wow that is really superb work. The one of the lady could easily be mistaken as a photo, and the warrior image is really impressive too.

Not bad for a first Poser 8 render.

I'm tending to agree with you.  The modo renders I'm doing now (with the WildHair I just bought) look the same if not better.
