Subject: HELP HELP HELP HELP

I honestly don't know what to do. I have tried everything I can think of but Poser 8 will not render out me a .avi file.

System specs:

Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T7400 @ 2.16 994MHz,
2GB Ram

Scene file is:
4364KB

Audio File is
4.8MB

Can anyone please help me figure out why it will not render a .avi!!!!!!

Start by describing step by step, click by click what you are doing and the results you get.

Poser can get nasty with avi files, because it has to render each frame and then add it to the avi file. You might try a different codec  or render a series of still images and then use a utility to convert thise to an avi file.

I open up my scene file. I then open up talk designer. I load my audio file. I add the text. I apply it. I run the animaiton to make sure that there are no errors. I then open up the make movie option. I set the movie settings to:

Format: AVI
Renderer: FireFly with full quailty, cast shadows, raytracing and render over black.

Resolution is 160x164 full. with constrain checked on.

Increment: all frames.

I then click make movie, save the file name and then as soon as I "click" save Poser responds with "Error creating AVI file"

scene size is 4364kb
audio file size is 4.8mb 44kHz 16bit stereo

Rendering direct to any kind of movie file is generally reckoned to be a bit of a no-no. I don't do it in Poser and I don't do it in Vue.

Render an image sequence (use PNG, TIF or JPEG files). You can combine these and the soundtrack using a decent video editor.

It's even possible to do this in QuickTime if you have the Pro license to unlock the required features.

Try Segmented to see if you can do a portion... that would rule out some sort of system limit.

Regarding the title of this thread: please use something more descriptive than just HELP. Use other people's thread titles as an example. It's just common courtesy.

I used that title because I need help. I have read other threads were others have done the same. If this offends you, sorry. But I really need help solving this issue.

It's not offensive: it's just not clear what you need help with.

"Need help with making an AVI file in Poser" is a lot more descriptive and you are more likely to get help from people who actually know something about the subject.

I do appologize about that. I just wanted everyone to read it with hopes that someone would know how to fix my problem

can you render a single frame?  it might not be the animation but something not coming up for the first frame
shadowcasting can cause memory errors and drop the frame on a single frame, or textures not native to the runtime you're using.
it is true that rendering an avi is harder than frame sequence.  better to render the sequence in frames and glue together elements in an avi editor.

go that way really fast.
if something gets in your way
